See you in MV!

Thanks for the info....well I have finally know where my co-pilot is going to be and when (which is still subject to change). I will now be in D.C. area Wednesday night. Therefore, chances are I might show up in some caravan somewhere at sometime......is that vague enough for ya......

They also come in handy so the last person in line can let the leader know when everyone is through a light, has exitted or entered a highway, etc. The leader can warn of lane changes. We can also talk about those whom we know don't have radios.
Oh...and I can warn about horn toots, so you don't have a heart attack (sorry Judy and Carl ). Assuming we catch up to the group, of course.

Two ways are really the only way to travel when you have a group. There were over 10 us on the HRPT last year and they prove to be invalueable. I would say get one if you don't have one. Also channel 8 seems to be the most common channel to use.

Channel 8 it is.
I'll try to meet you guys at the "Second Meet Point
9:00- 9:30am south of Winchester VA. The specific point is where I-66 merges onto I-81 is about 20 minutes or so south of Winchester. Meet up at exit 298 between 9:00 and 9:30."

Gary - which route are you taking to get out to 81? This is an unexpected, but pleasant surprise to read this. Thought you were going to meet up with BigJim in the 'burg??

Yes, "BigJim" has decided to meet up with us at meeting point #3, so...I decided the best route would be I-166 to I-81 (#2 meet up location, 9-9:30) and meet up with you and the PA gang!

Long ride home
Well Rich (Barakouda) and I drove straight through yesterday.
Left Maggie Valley at 6:30 AM. Rich and I went our seperate ways in Sturbridge, MA at 11:00 PM.
I got home just after midnight and have not heard from Rich yet.
18 hours & 1,000 miles & two stops for food & two stops for gas.
Glad to be home.
Hope everyone else had a safe and uneventful trip home.
One close call for me that I thought I would share. Woman in front of me overshot the ticket dispensing machine at the entrance to the Mass Pike. She put it in reverse and backed up a foot to get her ticket and forgot to take it out of reverse. She stepped on the gas and went backwards about 3 feet. I saw what she was doing when I pulled up behind her so I anticipated her stupidity and left several feet between us. Good thing I did.
Great to see you made it home safe and sound! I hate close calls like that! Fortunately, our drive was long, but totally uneventful from any drama stand point. Although we did kill many bugs. It was a slaughter for sure! Just lots of traffic on 81... you have to wonder where they all came from?
It was really fun SSRavaning down with everyone and we had a blast putting so many faces with names... now if we can just keep everyone straight!
I hope everyone made it home safe and sound and looking forward to the next event!

The trip did seem much LONGER going home
Oh I guess mine was. It took 12 hours to get back while only 10 to get there. Maybe it was those slow pokes on I-81 blocking the left lane or maybe it was I stopped in Vienna and had lunch with my brother
