Maine/New Hampshire/New England Ride

Hi All, I guess that we are not getting much interest in our western mountain's of Maine and New Hampshire Cruise. I am surprised that not more people have responded to what would be a real scenic ride through some of the most awsome areas in the two state area. I would have really liked to have hooked up with a group of 15-20 SSR Cruzers and had a great time but i guess it's not going to happen.

Have a great day

NE Meet ???

We certainly have enough SSR vehicles in the New England area to run a Great Meet ! We are a disconnected group - Most of us have the desire to attend a Local Event but apparently the best we can do is rally up a few SSRs at a time.

I've had the pleasure of getting to 2 events put on jointly with the Prowlers & SSRs and though we only had about 6 of each model, the camaraderie we all shared had to be experienced.

I don't have the answers, but I would not mind helping someone that has the energy & time to set up a New England Tour or Meet.

It would be beneficial if those that have a desire to attend a "Gathering" here in NE - Leave a Message -

Tell us why we don't see you at the events - Let us know what it would take to get you at a local event - Is Saturday better than Sunday ? Another day(s). What do you want to do when you get there - Eat, Talk, Tour ?

You really should have the opportunity to see, hear, and feel the changes I've made to my SSR - And let's not forget the beautiful sound of Poppa's SSR with those Classic Rally Stripes (I've got to get mine installed). What have you done to your SSR that you are proud of - We all want to see & hear it - In person !

Remember - We are unique in this world and we have good friends in the Prowlers and they are an active group. Maybe the initial answer is to get more involved with them ??? I don't have the answers, but I'm sure we do !

Frustrated - Chick

Chick, The center point of New England is around Concord, NH or Manchester, NH. Your near there. You set something up and I'll be there. I would even do a overnighter. I don't think room rates are to bad in that area. Also the big lake north of Concord. What you say.....New Englanders

If you can get something going during the fall foliage, we will come from Ohio. We are originally from NY and miss the beautiful fall colors of the east. We also would like a two day event and a lobster dinner and we don't mean at Red Lobster. We would enjoy a couple of scenic cruises, meeting and talking with other SSR Fanatics, seeing their SSR's and good food.

When I am Stateside I am up for some events. I do go to the NJ SSR club meetings when possible. But to travel that far it would have to be an over nighter for me.

I was in your area twice last month - Once was a day trip to enjoy the Strawberry Shortcake at the Hot Biscuit and then a couple of weeks later my wife and I drove through on our way back from Niagara Falls - And yes, we stopped for Strawberry Shortcake again - How can you resist it when you know it's there !

Regards, Chick

Wink I'm back from camping

It is not easy to get people together in the Summer on a weekend in New England. There are only 12 and some get rained out.
Then you have graduation parties, birthday parties, family get togethers, National SSR events and vacations to deal with.

All I can say is pick a date and go with it. Request that people respond if they can go so you know you are not going to be traveling alone on the cruise.

The first cruise I tried to do was to Cape Cod in 2005 with the Prowlers. I did not own an SSR then. Three people showed up and only two went on the cruise.
The weather was not the best when we met but it got better when we went to the Cape.

I put on the same cruise in the Fall of 2006 and there were 11 Prowlers and 2 SSR's. I drove my Prowler on the cruise but my wife wished I drove the SSR.
I sold my Prowler in May but still go on cruises with the Prowlers but I drive my SSR.

The point is don't give up trying to put something together.

I have a list of e-mail addresses for the New England SSR owners and the Prowler owners. I offered this to you before but you did not respond.
A lot of local SSR owners do not follow the SSR site. You have to send them e-mails.
PM me if you need any assistance or information.

Charlie

I'm only a couple of miles from there the Hot Biscuit. The owners are friends of mine. Look me up next time you come thru. I'm on Fuzzy's List, but I'll pm you with phone number.

I think it might help if you organized into a free hosted SSR-CLUB group and a free website to post your local SSR club plans and activities. This way your SSR owners will know were they can better communicate and look up future meetings and activities. I will help you get started and send new local members your way.

We hot rod loving Prowler owners enjoy hanging out with hot rod loving SSR owners. Cruisin and showing off your rides and chatting with cool people is what it's all about.
