Rack % pinion

Can any one Help!!!!!!

O4 SSR 47,000 mi
Rack & pinion Seals are leking dealer said the rack & pinion will have to be replace. replacment is the only fix but" there
none too be found.(nation wide back order)

GM has 115 in stock at BUCHANEN MI. Have your dealer check again. This part number fits 2003 to 2006 SSR.

Mike - Since you show it as 2003-2006, I have to assume it has all the steering box changes that GM made through the years. I'll wager that GM has superceded the old numbers with the newer one.

If this is true, the 2006 steering box has a very different feel from the 2004. I think they changed valving and feedback pressures to improve the "feel". If I remember correctly, there were about 4 or 5 incremental improvements in the steering rack.

I remember you researching this issue at the time we were modifying my SSR (three years ago this month).
