Smile Sunday Drive (10.21.07) UPDATE: PA, NY, CT Drive!

We now have a plan!

We're planning on taking a drive on Sunday and wanted to toss it out to see if anyone wanted to join in.

We're from the Scranton area and we're planning on Cruising over to Norwalk CT, via Hwy 84 into NY then 17A into some back roads, passing by Camp David and down to Norwalk CT where we'll do some antique browsing (they have many shops in the Norwalk area).

We plan on fishing up just across the NY border at a place called "The Old Stone Mill". It's a steak house that was featured on Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. We thought it looked like a cool place and steak is always a good thing!

So, if you're looking to "just get out" and want to join in... please feel free to write back and join in!

Ciao for now!
Sandy and Michael

I have to get on the stick! Been busy since the ride! But we do have some pics. It turned out to be an AWSOME day for a cruise! The fall colors were in peak and the temp all day long was in the 80's and at night in the 70's! I'll get some pics up soon!

Smile Images from the ride

Here are a few images from our little outing this weekend. Wonderful day - top down ALL day and night! Lots of color and great day to race around the woods! The one building is the Olde Stone Mill Steak House in NY about 45 mins north of the City... it was featured a week ago on Kitchen Nightmares... not bad... but overall we were a little disappointed given they just had one of the best chefs in the world come in this summer to help "fix" them. Good experience though.

Smile Looks like Fun

I'm very new to this. So please excuse my blunders. I just bought my first SSR, Slingshot Yellow, 04. It was a birthday present from my husband. Anyhow, my husband and I were wondering if there are any clubs around Eastern PA. We live in the Stroudsburg area. Also, I noticed the snow in one of the pictures. Can these vehicles perform in snow? Or should I leave it home and use my sedan. Like I said, I'm really a newbie with this. I just fell in love with these great lookin vehicles when they first came out and finally was able to get one. What a happy day!

Hi....welcome aboard. You should enjoy it here.

Here is a link to things going on in the North East:

Here is a link to the Registry, if you would like to put your SSR production number in and see where everyone else is:
Just Vin#s Registry

Here is a thread about our SSR map of owners:
SSr Owners Pinmap is ready for pins.
With the actual map here:

As for snow....I have driven in the snow. It does better than my Camaro. The traction control (if you have an auto) keeps the rear tires from slipping.

I use mine as a daily driver, and have not had any real issues with snow. Only time I couldn't make it was 6+ inches and the plow trucks hadn't reached my street yet. As for the typical 2-3 inches of snow or slush, has not been a problem, I do put a few 50b bags of salt in the back for some extra weight on the rear wheels.
