Ticonderoga NY, Adirondacks and VT Fall Tour
This post is to guage interest in a Fall tour/cruise in the Ticonderoga, NY area. Ticonderoga sits between Lake George and Lake Champlain. This is a very historic area and the site of America's first victory in the American Revolution. (The capture of Fort Ticonderoga from the British by Ethan Allen & Benedict Arnold). Vermont's Green Mountains lie to our East and we are in the Adirondacks. Please post here if you would be interested in a Fall tour/cruise and if a one or two day trip would be preferable.

It is a beautiful are, only wish I was closer so I could attend. It would be great if ya'll could meet up at the covered bridge there in town and get a picture of all the SSRs with the waterfall and bridge in the background...

Great idea! That certainly is a photo opportunity.

Update
Mason and I have been looking at the October 6th & 7th weekend. We talked about day 1 being a tour in the NY Adirondacks thru Keene Valley and Lake Placid. Day 2 would be somewhere in the Green Mountains of VT. This way if folks could only do 1 of the 2 days they could pick or do both days. Hopefully the foliage will be at its best, but even if not still beautiful areas.

Hi Marty...Probably the best pick would be the Super 8 Motel in Ticonderoga. 518-585-2617. It's right behind the McDonalds and walking distance to WalMart. I'm hoping on planning the actual route next week for the NY Side. Day one starting here in Ti and looping back for the overnight and Day two in VT with Mason leading the way.

I was just in that area on the Harley... YOU WILL ALL LOVE THIS.
Mid October is towards the back side of fall Foliage, but still has great roads and great views. Smooth travels thru Farms, along rivers, and thru the mountains in twist/turn pavement.
Lots of coverd bridges up there.
There is a small fairy ride across to Vermont.. that would be a cool picture with it loaded with our SSR family.
So far Red and I are open for 13-14th of Oct. But I wont know for sure until time gets closer.
Hope to see you soon.

Can I Go ?
Hi Roger:
Can I Go... Please !
I will probably still be getting my Bug-Juice in the hospital when this event is run. They expect my stay to last 4-8 weeks if they don't kill me first. This coming week I'm taking Jan out in the SSR so she can get used to the 6-Speed. That way if I am out of the hospital we might be able to join all of you for 1 day at least.
I saw the reference to the FERRY, but that is probably something we should avoid depending on how many SSR's are involved with the trip. If all of us don't get over on the same trip, we will waste a lot of time waiting to re-group. I would suggest heading north and taking the Appalachian Gap to Mason's area in Vermont.
It'll be a great time... I hope to make it
