The Wild BC Cruze

Its time for another Wild Bill and Cori SSR Fanatic adventure.
June 13th-17th 2012
This time we are highlighting Central Massachusetts.
The event is based at the Host Hotel in Sturbridge Mass.
Sturbridge Massachusetts Hotel & Conference Center
1-800-582-3232This hotel resort has a big parking lot with preferred secure parking for the SSRs
It has a park-like atmosphere around the outside with a peaceful lake on 2 sides.
There are many restaurants within walking distance.
All the main highways get you there,.. lots of back road to cruze once the rides begin.

UPDATE ... Dicktater will host a Tech day on Wendsday the 13th.. We will have a special post so you can order some bling for the "R"..

We will have a private tour of the Smith and Wesson Gun company in Springfield.
Smith & Wesson
This complete tour will bring you from receiving raw stock to a drop forge process, CNC machining, hand engraving, heat treating, the S&W museum with the original Dirty Harrys 44mag, and final products.
NOTE,... Please visit Smith and Wesson RULES. We will visit the S&W sports center where you will be able to shoot any handgun up to a 44mag. You don’t need a pistol permit. Teachers are available for first time shooters for free. You can shop for all kinds of S&W merchandise.

We will visit Old Sturbridge village Old Sturbridge Village
This town is a time capsule filled with houses and businesses set back as far as the 1600s. Actors are dressed to fit the time period.

We will take a ride to The Quabbin Reservoir Friends of Quabbin, Inc.
A nice ride thru light twists and old towns. A nice view .. perhaps a pic-nic dinner.

The Srubridge area is filled with antique stores and historic land marks.. I will arrange some optional destinations or add them to the rides.

The costs will be,…
Host hotel $90+tax per night (regularly over $150).
Old Sturbridge Village $15 per person
Quabbin … Pic-nic lunch.. self governed.
S&W …. Tour is FREE,.. Shooting is $25 per box of ammo. Quantity depends on caliber.
Area meals are reasonable and a good variety,.. Bar-B-Q, Steak, family style, and of course Burger King.

YES... THERE WILL BE T-ShIRTS and DASH PLAQUES Woo Hoo
Jeffanatic from Florida crafted the logo (Note in my Avitar)
THANKS JEFF !!!!!!!!

Every evening will be a social gathering.

I am blocking 25 rooms. RESERVATIONS NOW OPEN, ask for "SSR FANATICS"… first come first serve.

Please sign up as early as possible,... the more people that can come, the more goodies I can add to the gift bags.

Have Fun,.. or Have Fun Trying

Anyone who hasn't visited Old Sturbridge Village is in for a real treat. Most of the buildings were moved there from all over New England, the real deal, from the late 1700s and early 1800s. Lots of surprises, like one house has a room that was used for Masonic meetings, with Masonic symbols painted on the ceiling and walls.
Living history at it's best, and as many of you know, WildBill & Red are great hosts.

IAM COMING!!!

At my age, don't get to say that much.

I plan on being at your Rally in June at Sturbridge Village.
I am a descendant of the Fairbanks House in Dedham, Mass. My Mom's Maiden Name - Fairbanks. Oldest wooden structure in the U.S.

I remember riding to Boston to get the permits. Took several Days for Ben Franklin to complete the impact study, zoning regulations, set back, elevation and sewer hookup.

The inspectors came out for the foundation, roof, framing and electrical approval, of course we didn't have electricity, it was just a way for the Government to create another job.

EPA and FDA, then and now, was the biggest problem. We were not to eat raw meat, drink raw milk or water from the well, or shoot any Indians that may try to drive us out.

We were cited for the drop down windows with holes for shooting, claimed we were restricting air flow in the house. DUH!

We were also cited for not having fire extinguishers in the barn. And we STILL don't have approval for the "out house".

See you in June, 2012
Dicktator

Pictures of my Visit in 2010

1. We worked on SSR's.
2. We had dinner
3. I had a very cute passenger.
4. YOU guys tied me up in the garage!
5. You did let me drive in the 4th July Parade BEFORE you tied me up.

Not going to tie me up again, are you??

I am a NEW ENGLAND boy, born and bred.

Don't miss the cold or skiing off the roof of our house, which I did one year in Newfane, Vermont.

Hope my health remains the same and look forward to seeing all of you next year.
