Gift Exchange Maggie Valley 2008

I just spoke with Gina this morning about having another gift exchange this year. Our concerns though were, how would we be able to take the time to exchange all of the gifts. We have almost 100 coming to the rally this year and doing the exchange in the same manner as last year would take a long time.

So......the plan for this year

If you want to be a part of this fun exchange.... bring a gift. This could be something from your hometown or home state to show off your part of the country. If you want to make something, that would be cool, too. The gifts don't have to be SSR related, but if they are, try to make them unique. I know a lot you have quite the collection of SSR related material in your homes and are always looking for that something extra to add to it. Last year I saw a bunch of really neat gifts that were exchanged, both SSR and non-SSR related.

Now the different part.......

Sometime before Saturday evening's dinner, see me and I will give you a numbered tag to attach to your gift. Bring your gift to the dinner Saturday evening and once we are ready to do the exchange we will pass the hat to those who brought their gifts and you will draw another number. We will then call out the numbers and those having the corresponding numbers will deliver their gift personally to the lucky recipient. Do not open at this time.... after everyone has a gift we then can have an "all at once" opening. (remember Christmas morning when you were 8 years old?)

This will do a couple of things.....it should speed up the process, and you will get to meet the person who gave you the gift in an upclose way. With so many new Fanatics coming this year, we have a lot of new faces to put with the names, so this might be one way of helping out.

So....if you want to exchange something be thinking of it soon, as May is right around the corner. We really don't need a count for this, but if you are interested in this please respond so we will have an idea of how many are going to participate.

Thanks........Jeff

Wink

Jimmy and I will participate. The only issue I have with everyone opening their gifts at the same time is that it will be hard to see what everyone else got. I really enjoyed seeing all the cool things that people brought last year. I would hate to miss out. Just a thought. Thanks,

Amy

I agree with you Amy, but Gina and I were thinking of how much time would be involved. Any suggestions of another way to try it?

New process sounds like a winner....count me in.....maybe after all the gifts are opened, they could be placed on the tables for people to view for the "closing and walk around"
