Brooksville Relocation

My wife and I are seriously considering leaving Vegas for a simpler lifestyle. We have been following the threads for Florida and are glad to see so much activity...The Keys trip sounds great.
I thought we would inquire early about any dealerships or forum members in the area who could provide tunes and recommend any places to take our baby. The closest city with any significant dealerships looks to be Spring Hill but then of course there is always Tampa.
Thanks in advance for any help.

What??? !!! Florida?!!

YOU have to pass through Texas to get there, so maybe you better read up on a few of the Texas Blogs as well.

How cool! We'll be thrilled to have another owner join us in the Sunshine State. I'm sure mr. and mrs. vettegirl can hook you up on the west coast. There is also birdman in Naples and I believe he has a relative at a Chevy dealer over there. So will ya'll get here in time for the Keys Run?

You know you are a Fanatic when......

You are thinking of relocating your family and one of your main concerns is a reputable Chevy Dealer to service your "baby".

Smile Brooksville

That area of Florida is one of the fastest growing. They put an expressway in from Brooksville to Tampa. Real estate will do nothing but rise.
Our real estate prices are coming down fast. Lot of inventory.
Taxes are high and the insurance is out of sight. Had 5 huricanes in one yr and the insurance companys are getting their money back.
If you buy far enough away from the gulf, your insurance will not be to bad. The truth is "It's not cheap to live in Florida anymore". Love the weather tho.
It's a great life style, because you can ALWAYS drive your SSR.
Plenty of Dealers to choose from.

Brooksville is beautiful! It will be great to have another Fanatic in town.

Lonnie has a good relationship with a service writer in Plant City and we get pretty much anything we want done (just bring him a giant Iced Mocha Latte every time you go in ) - he will be glad to introduce you.

I am not trying to sway your decision to relocate to Florida, but i think it is safe to say that there are any number of Fanatics that have found a worthwhle service tech.

I will not go into what my service tech suggested to me, but let's just say, he was thinking of what my needs are, and not the dealership.

Good Luck with your move.

btw, I have been know to pass along items to my service tech as well, but I think of us as friends. I think that is key to developing a great repoire wth anyone.

Brooksville Relocation

What great responses. We appreciate all help, assistance, and of course humor. We own property at Southern Hills Plantation in Brooksville and just got back from meeting with the five approved builders. The buyer and cash are king right now and the discounts and perks are quire impressive. We are getting our home ready to put on the market most likely in February...just before the Spring rush (Fingers crossed). We won't sign a contract and start the building process until our home is sold. However, once sold we will head to Florida and rent a home while ours is under construction.
When the time comes we will happily drive through Texas. I have lots of fond memories of time spent in Texas during my youth (also referred to as the Ice Age).

I wish we were able to attend the Keys trip this year but God willing we can prey for a quick sale and attendance in 2009.

Thanks again to all who responded. We feel like we have made some new pals already.

Gina, They will be living in Florida on the WEST COAST, as we call it. Maybe it should be the OTHER West COAST. You live on the East Coast.

OK so I was gonna say since there moving to the south but I guess that would further confuse the Floridians. They would think I meant Miami right?

Gina, You must remember, Floridians can't even count votes and get it right. We are easly confused.
