Car show in Lakeland next Friday evening 03/17
Hi All,
Thought that we might want to plan a get together for Central Florida.
Gene (nosepicker) was telling me about a nice little car show in Lakeland on Friday evenings.
This would be a chance for us to get together and see if we can get Lonnie (Mr. VetteGirl) to reveal his top secret custom paint job on their new asphalt black 6 speed and tell a few lies about how fast our SSRs will go.
We have a really nice group of SSR people here in the Tampa area and I would like to keep it going. Anyone interested?

Hey Lauren, I have the parts but it is not in the vehicle yet due to the programming issue (noboday in Central Florida has the program yet). That is one of the reasons that I am trying to get 5 of us together for a tune. Ramsey's Performance in Tampa will do the gear change (they did one for my Cobra). 4 hours labor (4x$80.00) $320.00.
Looking forward to seeing you next Friday evening. We will post details later.

Lonnie was just at the Tile Barn in Plant City behind the Outback Steakhouse, and the owner just bought a yellow SSR. He invited them, hopefully they'll join us!
I printed out all the tuning information for Lonnie. He has "top secret" engine plans too, maybe you can talk him into it Friday night.

Lakeland Car Show
I AM IN DEPENDING ON THE TIME-DIFFICULT SOMETIMES TO GET OUT OF HERE EARLY-LET ME KNOW LOCATION/TIME-WE MAY BE ABLE TO CONTINUE THIS THREAD TO INCLUDE THE SPRING SPECTACULAR AT DAYTONE 24-25.26 MAR...
Lakeland has a event night downtown the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month. The stores and restaurants stay open late. Also they close off one of the streets, anyone with a car they want to show may do so. This is from 6pm until 9pm. The next night will be the 17th. It would be great to have a group of SSR's show up. I'm usually the only SSR there. Will work out where to meet and what time next week. Have to get there early as they usually have a lot of cars and trucks show up. No cost.
Best Regards
Gene

A great event last night guys.
Gene, thanks for leeting us in on the nice car show in Lakeland. It was great to see everybody. We had 5 SSRs lined up on the closed down street in Lakeland. The people that put on the show were so nice. Not like the bunch that put on the Plant City car show.
Everybody is waiting for Mr and Mrs VetteGirl's unveiling of their new 2006 6speed. All I can say is that it is going to be in the body shop for the next month.
p.s. Gene, nice pinstriping job on your ride!
Simon and Jimmy, we missed you!

I think the secret's out. Lonnie is up at the body shop working on the SSR today, and he heard a customer up front talking to the owner saying "that's that truck they were talking about up at Skeeter's". Skeeter's is an upholsterer next to a local hot rod shop that we took the SSR to for a quote on doing the seats - Skeeter didn't get the job, but I guess he liked the concept!
