There is still room for the Mt. Pisgah and Dragon Run

I received a copy of our menu for lunch at La Strada. This will be a limited menu due to the crowd size. I worked with Joe Mazur (the general manager) on this and he has been super. Notice our logo he added to the top of the menu. Its not easy to find a restaurant in a small town that will take a crowd this size.

I am posting a copy of the menu below.

La Strada has 88 outside seats on the large deck overlooking Lake Lure. Hopefully it will be warm so we can enjoy it. Lots more inside seating also.

We will arrive there in time for when the doors open at 11:30. This will help ensure we get better service (before the lunch crowd gets there)

There will be an automatic 20% gratuity charged to each check.

If anyone does not want to join us at La Strada, please let me know so that I can try to give Joe an accurate number.

ANNOUNCEMENT

WE WILL NOW BE DEPARTING FOR THE CHIMNEY ROCK/LAKE LURE RUN FROM "GHOST TOWN IN THE SKY AMUSEMENT PARK"

Ghost Town in the Sky (Maggie Valley,NC)

I obtained permission today.
They have a huge parking lot and we will have plenty of room to line-up. With 50 of us on the ride and the hotel parking lots full, we needed a formation area.
:
This is also their opening date for the 2008 season. We can begin lining up at 9:30 and leave by 10:00AM sharp. They are located about 4 miles up the road from my place and Maggie Valley Inn & Conference Center. (left turn from my place, right turn from MVICC)

Those of you that took this ride during the MV rally and especially those that went into the park might be interested in the following news article. What a terrible weekend for the family involved.

That is so sad, my heart goes out to that poor mother.

About a week ago the preacher from the biggest church in our town crashed his plane into a mountain outside Ashville killing himself and his 13-year-old son. The mountains are so beautiful, but you really have to respect them.
