Ed,

Personally, I don't see why you can't do both. I'm not sure where you will be parked, since you are registered in the GM Truck Show. But even if you're not right there with the rest of us, we can make it known to all those attending and voting where you are at, and that you would like to be considered in the categories of our own show. Same would apply to any other fanatics who have registered to participate in their show.

Alex, what you are doing is great, if we can be of any help when we get there let know and you've got it.

See everyone there!!

Fuji,

Thanks for the offer to help. I may take you up on that. Also, since we will be on a voting system of points in the 8 competition categories, 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, and 1 for 3rd, in the event that we should have any ties, I most likely will round up an "experienced" panel of say either 3 or 5 fanatics together to help us break any ties by a majority vote. Of course, we'll have it so no fanatic of that panel would be put in the position of having to vote if he/she were involved in the tie. Hope that sounds all right to most everyone.

Hi Gina and Alex.......
Lloyd and I will be flying back to MV, but we plan on being at the SSR car show on Sat. at 10:00. Since we will not be in the competition, we would be more than happy to help out with "tie-breakers", passing out ballots or counting, unless there is a new category for "Best Rent-A-Crap"
Gerry..........BP

Note: We decided to fly because of time constraints and we wanted to spend time after the event in Tenn. and N. Carolina.

Gerry,

Glad you and Lloyd will be able to come join us all. Sorry you won't have your SSR with you, but we promise not to "razz" you too hard about your rental.....whatever it turns out to be. Not being the hosts will certainly allow you both to have more freedom and fun. Thanks for offering to help out.

BTW, for those who were not in Springfield last June, I want to thank you both for setting up the competition that we had there at the Steak-&-Shake cruise-in. I think everyone there REALLY enjoyed it, and that's what gave me the idea for us to have a similar competition in Maggie Valley. What a perfect place to have it.....at the GM Truck Show! I believe it will be fun and I know that it surely will be most competitive! Plus hopefully we'll have most of us there together to conveniently share tips and ideas about our trucks, that we all love so much.

Alex, take advantage of these volunteers!!!!

I'm thinking the competitors can park together and the rest of us park together. A volunteer or two will be needed to be in charge of the parking I'm sure. What do you think?

Gina,

I'll be sure to round up my "lucky" volunteers.

I agree that parking together in groups of those that want to be included in the competition and those that don't is desirable. However, with stragglers coming in both groups, I don't see that it is totally imperative, since the ones competing will have an ID sheet on their dashboard, each with a unique number. Like most all car shows do, we will use these numbers when we vote for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the 8 categories. Obviously my hope is that all the fanatics attending (competing or not) can be parked close together. Heck, we've got that fantastic group shot to consider and look forward to.

For "Rebel", and any other fanatics that are registered in the GM Truck Show, if they are not parked right with us, then we will make the fanatic voters aware of where they are parked so that they can be included in our voting.

Below is a quote from the PM received.

This wonderful Fanatic has also expressed that they will foot the bill for the trophies. I would tell you who it is but they chose to remain anonymous. I think that this will add a lot to the Maggie Valley 2008 rally.

So Ladies and Gentleman get those SSR's ready for the competition!!!!

I am trying to get some #'s on how many people will be attending the GM truck show on Saturday. The cost to come into the show and park with the SSR group is $5 per SSR. This is a very fair price. We could not rent a space this cheap for our large group to gather and hold this competition.

If you plan on entering the SSR contest (not the GM truck show, our own competition) you need to be their by 10 AM and allow 2 hours for judging.
I am asking for everyone else that is attending to be there and parked by noon so that we can try and get a group shot. This will be our best opportunity. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy the show or to leave and enjoy the area.

Please post on this thread if you plan on entering the competition, attending the show or both. I will post the #'s on post # 1 of this thread

Cruzned would like to enter "Black Betty" into our little show. Guess I better get the ole striper brush out and get to work some more! Do you need $$ in advance or can we just pay at the event?
