Dragon's Tail Run Sign up!

I am Volunteering to lead the Daragon's Tail run on Friday during the Maggie Valley gathering. If you have never done it, its a blast and very challenging, see the information here.

Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap and Cherohala Skyway, Graham Co, NC

Its about an hour from Maggie and the drive over is pretty cool as well. There are lots of runners on the tail and there will be official photographers out there that will take pictures you will want to buy. I would like to leave after breakfast for the run and it will take about four hours to drive over and back and do the run, both ways. If you think you can handle it, come on!

In order to keep the chaos down to a minimum, We are going to stagger the departure times for the three Friday Cruises, the Group doing the Dragon's tail will leaveMaggieat 10:00am.

This is for the Maggie Valley gathering.
He is just gathering names for one of the three rides on Friday.
(Read the MV thread for a description of the other 2 rides that are happening about the same time)

And so it starts. It only took 3 minutes from the time I let my other half know we're going on the Tail Run until I got the dreaded question: "Can I drive"?

We'll go somewhere in the middle so he doesn't scare the living daylights out of me, please. I've never been carsick to the point where I needed a barf bag, but they say there's a first time for everything.

Last time we did this out SSR's transmission blew up on the way to Maggie Valley, and we had to slay the Dragon in a rented Trailblazer that needless to say did NOT hug the curves! On top of that we were behind Devastator, who I was sure was gonna drift himself right over a cliff! Why am I doing this again????

I'm guessing he doesn't want to be in FRONT

Seeing you go sideways in the rear view mirror is probably scarier than watching through the windshield...
