My wife and I have talked about it and would really like to see a fall run. We missed out on the run this summer and even if there isn't an organized date we plan to get with Gina and run down sometime. Looking at my schedule, the weekend of the 28th of Oct would work the best.
Sounds good to me. Gina showed me the way to the Tail of the dragon so i am willing to take a group there if there is a desire to do so. this will take some of the load off of Gina..
But I guess the main thing is to speak to gina and see what her schedule is..Maybe she works this time and Danny gets to go play

OK, heres the deal on a Fall Rally. I would love to host one as good as I did in the Spring, BUT October is VERY busy for us. The 2nd and 3rd week we are full/almost full everyday. So we couldnt do a cookout/BBQ like last time. We prepared all that BBQ ahead of time back in May. But I'm not worried about food, you could do a pizza party again plus there are plenty of restaurants around.
Danny runs a paving company and since the weather is to inclement in the winter to pave here they are busting butt trying to wrap it up for the winter. (Sometimes working on Saturdays to). So I dont know how much we could partcipate. (yes Danny will go this time if one of us gets the chance!, you think I drive crazy, he has the '06)
That is still a busy weekend for us because of the fall season and the Americas Clogging Competition. I was able to give good low rates last time because it was not a busy time for us. However, this being peak season regular rates would apply with a 2 night minimum with regular cancellation policy in place. I hate to do this to my SSR friends but would be forced to at this time of year.
The leaves peak at different times each year so they may or may not be as pretty at this time. They have peaked the 2nd week and then sometimes not until the last week. That is just unpredictable.
So all that being said and on the table, I would be happy to see my old/new friends again. I just dont want anyone to be disappointed with my limited hosting abilities during our peak season and Dannys chaotic schedule at his job also. I want to stress that its not that I dont want to do it, I just cant give it my all and everyone is welcome. You would just be on your own more.
BTW-I do plan on doing another spring rally in May with all our personal touches like last time.

That sounds good, too. If we are on our own this fall it would still be fun to see the area and have someone that has either been there before, or you, to give us some ideas of some of the sites in the area to see.

Sure, I would plan on givng out directions and recommending drives, restaurants and all that stuff. Plus the ones that do come could go in groups. I didnt mean that I wouldnt help out at all. Wouldnt do that to ya'll.

I knew that..... When someone comes to your home area most everyone wants to be able to "make it shine" and have visitors really enjoy the area and want to come back. Sounds like you've done that and more. Really looking forward to a trip this fall. Until about 3 years ago, my wife and I owned a home on the Ohio river that was built in 1798 and we gave some serious thought to opening a bed and breakfast. With both of us working at outside jobs and still having teens at home at the time, we decided it would be too much work. Now, looking back I kinda wish we had done it and we could have had an SSR Ohio river cruise!

Boosted,
You are welcome to come up in the Fall along with anyone else who wants to. I already have reservations for some of the rooms so I cant lock down the motel like I did in the spring.
