GA SSR Meet & Eat --- Feb.03.2012

Calling on my Georgia SSR crew. I know that some time back I created a post looking for R owners in GA to start a club. Well, I'd finally like to plan a luncheon in February (prob 2/4/12). Location is The Varsity Restaurant (Town Center) in Kennesaw GA. I believe this was the last location that the GA crew met. Great food, great prices, great fun. Let me know if you guys are interested in attending. Thanks

Town Center was my first SSr meet also. I had an 04 yellow at the time. I would be interested in a Feb. meet an eat.

I didn't think about the Varsity. Great food and plenty of parking. I'm open either way. Once I gauge the interest, I'll set a date.

Feb. 3 is a Friday, did you mean that or should the be on Saturday 2/4?

Yes. Tentatively let's say Saturday 2/4/12. Not a lot of participation yet but I'll send out PMs to the local crew that I know of.

Linda and I look forward to the Meet and Greet, but we may bring our own lunch. Not fans of the Varsity but I"m sure it's a good place to meet. 2/4 is good for us.

Don't be so picky Michael! Those hot dogs and chili burgers go straight to the Knee!
Count me in.
Glad someone else has taken up the meet and greet. I did it for a whole summer and it was fun, but i am just too busy with business to manage that again.
Any consideration for a rain date? We all know that rain causes SSR's to melt into a garage!
Don't forget Kennesaw Phil. I assume he still has the R, I haven't talked to him for quite a while, but know he will welcome getting outta' the house. you might PM him, and copy Dictator who talks to Phil regularly.

Hello all. The 2.4.2012 luncheon at the Varsity is still a go. We are meeting in the rear of the building. They have plenty of parking there. We are meeting at 1:00PM. If it rains on saturday I was thinking we could postpone it a day and go on Sunday 2.5.2012. I hope you all can still make it and I look forward to meeting you there. Please PM me with any questions or concerns.

I added Kennesaw Phil to the PM list when I sent the invite. However I didn't receive a response. I hope he's still an SSR owner. I will pm Dictator to see if he has any info on him. I look forward to seeing you on Saturday at 1:00.

Okay all. It looks like rain tomorrow and Sunday. Let's postpone the luncheon until next Saturday 2-11-12. In addition, what do you guys think about moving the location to the Varsity downtown? This would provide a more central location for those coming from other parts of the city. Share your thoughts and ideas. Let me know. Thanks guys.

Downtown is not my favorite place but i am only one person. If you guys decide on downtown I will be there. Looking forward to this. Have'nt looked at the weather forecast yet but lets hope for good weather.

Prudent decision, Mike, on both date and location. Confident downtown Varsity will yield much better turnout by the east Atl "R" community!

Im thinking for this first meeting we should be in a central location. Other future meetings will be in other parts of the Atlanta metro area. In addition, I've been thinking about some local cruises and events that we could do. Some examples include:

* Oktoberfest in Helen, GA

* NASCAR weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, GA

* Local auto shows on the Creepers Auto club calendar

* Historic Savannah cruise

* Egleston Children's Hospital charity parade

I'm open to all ideas and suggestions for future outings. Let me know.

Great. So its settled. Next Saturday (2-11-12), rain or shine we will meet at the downtown Atlanta Varsity restaurant at 1:00. Rain or shine! We postponed today due to rain but next Saturday is supposed to be clear.

I'll try to be there too. So where at that Varsity? Maybe the top of the garage lot? Usually the lower drive-up is full, but on the weekend, the top lot should be relatively open unless there is a downtown event.

Glad we are not chancing the rain.My stainless takes hours to detail after he rain!

I am there often. My plant is about 2 miles from there!
