Smile Georgia To Maggie Valley 2008

Well it getting close, guess it's about time, so since I've received several pm's and phone calls, I'll get started.

Thanks Gina for all your efforts and hard work for us. We are looking forward to having another Great Time (but hopefully dry) in the Valley.

On Thursday May 1st, 2008 several of us will be meeting and leaving from Discover Mills Outlet Mall between exits 108 & 109 off I-85 north of Atlanta at 12:30 for our "journey" to "Rally in the Valley 2008, Maggie Valley NC".

Grayfox, I don't know you but look forward to meeting you. A while back you posted something about going together. Last year several of us met and went together, have met several times since, and have been planning going up together for some time now.
You and Any One Else are More Than Welcome to Join us for the Drive Up !

We will meet and leave from Discover Mills Outlet Mall.

DIRECTIONS FROM BASS PRO SHOP WEB SITE:
Directions to Bass Pro Shops Atlanta (Lawrenceville):
From I-85 Northbound take the Sugarloaf Parkway exit (108). At the Sugarloaf Parkway traffic signal, take a left and go to the next traffic signal. Turn to the right and immediately get into the second lane from the left. This leads into the Discover Mills Mall entrance and directly to Bass Pro Shops.

We will leave at 12:30 from the Mall parking lot beside Bass Pro Shop. There will be other Fanatics joining us on the way up I-985 and 441. Since we all will not be on the exact time schedule that morning, feel free to arrive at the mall anytime before 12:30. Kim has a meeting that morning and we will be leaving from the Alabama line. You can arrive early and shop (or look) in the mall or Bass Pro Shop. We will meet for lunch in the mall food court just down from Bass Pro Shop around 11:30.

Please send me a PM including Name (or names), Fanatic Name, Cell phone number, your Town and State (and home phone if you want us to have it, I will include mine). I will make a list and be sure everyone has one who goes up with us. Never know when you might want to or need to "reach out and touch" a Fanatic ? If you have any "walkie talkies" please bring them.

As stated earlier, we will leave the Discover Mills Outlet at 12:30, travel I-85 to I-985 to 441. We will make a pit stop for our darlings (gas stop for us not so darling ) at the BP in Clayton, GA on 441 on the right and should arrive in Maggie Valley 4:00ish.

There are quite a few Fanatics from Georgia, Alabama and Florida we don't know, who are making the Maggie Valley Rally this year. Please feel free and know that you are welcome to join us for this little Journey up.

"Its not just the Destination, but also the Journey". A Harley saying, but applies to SSR's too.

For the Love of It, (Fanatics and our little trucks)

What do you mean by dry? No rain or no alcohol?

Well in all my "official sworn duties",
I've never seen anyone melt from a little alcohol.
It will just make you clean and sanatary.

Plus, Alex just about rubbed all the silver off that "Bling SSR" due to the rain.

Also, Pete locked Linda in the bathroom, due to the rain.

Also, Elvis didn't have his complete "get up and go", due to the rain.

BUTT! a Great Time was had by All.
I'm sure you of all people haven't noticed: All of us are comming back plus one or two more...

Party Hardy (just don't drink and drive)

By the way, I should be along, that is, as long as things stay as they are now. My mother asked me about this MV trip yesterday, which was her way of saying I should go and not worry about being here for her.

Vicki, I received your pm and we will all keep praying for Mum.
Mothers have a way of knowing what's best . We'll talk before then, but will plan on "picking" you up on the way.

PM Dave

Those of us who are meeting Heartbeat in Atlanta,
to run together to Maggie Valley,
should PM Dave so he has your name.

If you are not on the list, and are late, we won't wait for you, because we didn't know you were coming.

So, "GET 'ER DONE"!! Where have I heard that before??

You and I were both in the same situation last year.

Kim has a 7:00 meeting on the 1st. I'll take her, wait for her at the coffee shop and hopefully we can leave the area by 10:00 which will put us at Bass Pro Shop by 11:30. We'll talk before next Thursday.

Besides, YOU GOT THE RADIOS !!!

Thanks Dick. (thats why FL voted him President of the entire West Coast )
I believe he would be good for the USA in November. I know he's better than what it looks like we will have to pick from.

Everyone who is or will be in our area is more than welcome to join us for the drive to MV.

If you would rather, You can just post on this thread. We don't want to leave anyone, so thats why we want to know who's comming.

The PM is just for a private list including phone numbers of those of us going up together. I have a couple of these phone list from past Runs and keep them with my SSR stuff. I use them to call Fanatic Friends from time to time.

Kim and I do a lot of Harley Rides, and SSR's are just as special and fun.

I get a "sweet natural high feeling" when there are several of us together, folks turn and point and I can read their lips saying,
"look at all those Harleys" or in the case of our SSR's "look at all those Neat Little Trucks. What are they?"

If you want to join us, you're welcome. If you are going by yourself, Be Careful.

David

I looked at the weather forecast for the next week in Maggie Valley and it isn't good.

Thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday.

High 66
Low 41

That's winter in Florida!!

There will be NO RAIN that week end, I just waxed the R and my head, and my head looks bad with rain spots.

David, put us on your "maybe" list. Lonnie wants to drive into Georgia Wed night, then get up early and hook up with your caravan for the ride into Maggie. It will all depend on what time I can get off work Wed, so if we're not there just head out without us. Lonnie's cell# is 813-625-4457 just in case.

Big Daddy, Now you tell us, when we have our reservations in Kennasaw. I could have had at least 7 SSR's stay at your place.

Only Kidding, Thanks for the offer, and yes we will be coming up 75, most of us will anyway.

Jim and Amy were well on their way this morning when I spoke with them. They were running 95 North. They were hitting rain.
They are headed to see their Daughter, who is in college, up in North Carolina there somewhere.

See you in Maggie??

Ya'll know you need to "plan" on hooking up with us. Pasta is still trying to figure when, where and how. He has to many options.

We've offered him a "room, bed, and a biscuit". NO PASTA THAT MORNING. NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR KIM TO FIX IT.
I would, but have a cut on my finger.

We have a couple extra bedrooms and I am offering Ya'll a "room, bed, and a biscuit tooooooooooo".

Sorry, would have offered sooner, but had to be sure Dick already had a motel room first.

A kind soul just e-mailed me a picture from this morning of snow on the ground and 25 degree temps. I don't wanna go!!!!

Please tell us that picture came from "way up north"...

It did get down to 37 this morning on the farm, but is headed up to 68 today and 75 tomorrow.

Also Hugging is good for warming up the soul.
