Cool Indian Summer

Like they say, if ya want something done right, do it yourself, so I did, lol.I took the Chesapeake Bay bridge to Ocean City, MD and had dinner at Bull On The Beach, best pit cooked beef sandwich ever, sliced thin, stacked high on a fresh kaiser roll. Maryland style crab soup, of course, was excellent.
Got on cell phone to my brother in Illinois, he found a room at the Comfort Inn for a very reasonable price, forty bucks. Right on the boardwalk, I was thinking about ,lunch the next day and discovered Hooters was next door. Always did like chicken wings.
After a full day of NFL, on the beach, it was time to forge on. Just north of Ocean City is Lewes, Delaware. There is an ocean going ferry boat that takes you from Lewes, DE to Cape May, NJ. The boat holds about 100 cars and at one point you lose sight of land, takes about 90 minutes. If you've never taken the trip, put it on your list for a sunny day.
From Cape May it is a straight shot north to Atlantic City, parked at Trumps Taj Mahal, had more good food, played a few slots, took the interstate south and was home in time for monday night football.
Will probably do it again in the spring. Hope everyone else had fun raking leaves.

I'm jealous, Jumpout . . . sounds like a great "spur of the moment" trip.

I know, correction: KNEW that area well because as a kid we had a Summer Home on Chincoteague many many years ago. I definitely miss the Atlantic, the Beaches, the Boats and the Seafood.

Makes me HOMESICK for everything but the weather.

This goes wayyyyyyyyy back. Indian summer refers to late, warm weather, used by the indians to raid the settlers as they did in the summer. Go figure.... (or for harvesting squash and corn)
