Jolie's Mint Julep

At Maggie Valley Jolie's mint juleps went like hot cakes. She was going to post the recipe but never did it. So I will do it for her.

How to Mint Julep
make a

Whether you’re going to the Derby or a Derby party, you’ll want to drink one of these. Here’s the Early Times recipe, found online at Kentucky Derby

Ingredients: 2 cups sugar, 2 cups water, fresh mint, crushed ice, bourbon, silver cup.

Directions: Boil sugar and water 5 minutes into a syrup.
Place in covered container with 6-8 sprigs of mint and refrigerate overnight.

Fill each cup with crushed ice, 1 ounce of syrup, 2 ounces of bourbon and another sprig of mint.
