Kentucky Bourbon Trail Cruise

I'm looking to put together a cruise in the spring. The cruise would be along the Bourbon trail of Kentucky.

Below is the updated info ....I think..
We finally received confirmation of our first tour so we could get our times set. We will be starting bright and early at 8:30 am at Buffalo Trace. Looks like we are going to get 4 tours in as well as hopefully stopping at 1 other. Details will be in the mail to those who have requested. Pack a lunch, its going to be a full day!

The following is a list of the screen names who haved reserved a room(s)

1) Scott0168
2) Marty
3) Legendlime
4) Wow_FCTR
5) stevwatkins (doesn't need a room)
6) Rusty Sanderson
7) Quest
8) Prplhze
9) HotRodGirl
10) Cool Blue
11) wingrider
12) Papa Till (doesn't need room)
13) Purple Flash

Looking forward to it!!! Post more later. If anyone else is interested, just send message.. The confirmed date is April 5 for the Bourbon Trail Run... and we will go to Keeneland with those interested on April 6.I have been able to get a block of 15 rooms at the Best Western, which is one of the nicer hotels here (Best Western International Hotels - HOME Frankfort, KY if you want to see pictures). The group rate is 67.99 as long as we have 8 - 15 rooms booked. Currently I have received requests from 8 people for hotels so this should be ok. (The regular rate at this hotel is $89 and up)

The hotel is right off of the interstate and has plenty of parking, in addition, we have requested first floor because the parking is right outside of the room. They have a deluxe continental breakfast and a heated pool.

When you call ask for SSR Fanatics block of rooms. (502) 695-6111 - if you need a hotel, you need to call and reserve - the rooms are only being held until March 15.

Let us know once you are booked so we can keep count if I need to get additional rooms.

Saturday morning, we will be meeting around 8:00 am in the parking lot of the Best Western
Any questions, let us know. Looking forward to a great time!

I turned the important info red as some folks couldn't seem to find it the other way

If this turns out to be a two day event I will check with local hotels and see about getting discounted rates.
Also this will be held at least a month before Maggie Valley. I don't want to miss going down there.

Dates?

If the dates are workable for me, I'd love to go. I have a barrel of Makers Mark with my name on it aging as I am an official "Makers Mark Ambassador".

The dates aren't set in stone yet, if we decide on a two day cruise it will be in conjunction with the spring meet at Keeneland. That gives us several weekends to choose from.

Right now it looks like this will happen the first weekend of April. This is also when Keeneland opens up.

I was in Bardstown for a Goldwing rally this past weekend and we toured some distillery's and I don't like Bourbon but I had a great time, so I know the Bourbon run will be fun.

We are gathering information and would like to send some brochures to those who are interested. If you could please PM your address we will send out information after the holidays and get things lined out.

The dates are April 5 and April 6 (and maybe the Party begins on April 4) we are open to that!!

We have currently planned to do the Bourbon Trail run on Saturday (starting in Bardstown, Ky) and Keenland (horse racing) on Sunday. Friday night is open if anyone wants we can do something Friday night as well. Right now, nothing is set in stone, and can be easily changed depending on who is coming from where and what the majority wants to do.

We are going to look into discounted rates on hotels and dining. Does everyone like Mexican food??

Looking forward to planning and getting this all together. Please post any comments or suggestions...

We visited with the local travel and tourism people Friday. Gathered up some information. This is getting exciting. Some of the distilleries don't offer tours, but looks like we are aiming at Buffalo Trace, The Woodford Reserve, and Makers Mark, and hopefully Four Roses for sure. Looking at schedules and timing.

At Makers Mark you can buy a small bottle and dip it yourself in the wax as well as sign and date the label. I thought that sounded really cool.

I'm keeping track of the addresses, thanks for all of the response. I will mail the packages along with a proposed agenda after the holidays.
