Let the Dragon Tail tales begin!!

Well, we are halfway there..400 miles down and 400 to go..the drive went quite smoothly which was surprising considering all the closures lately along the I-95 for forest fires..there were no accidents and no construction to slow us down..nice and smooth..that should have warned us When we stopped for the night, Bear walked around the buggy and TADA..there it was..a FLAT sooo Bear gets to try to patch it in the AM...something he has never done..fortunately JeffDBFl is meeting us.

Anyone else have interesting drives??

Wow - sounds like you an early contender for the hard luck award. Lets hope you win since that would mean no worse luck for anyone else. Good luck with the tire repair.

...

We are very lucky ... half sheet of chipboard fell out of a junk truck. Boxed in traffic both lanes on eather side where full and a KW up my butt. Slowed down enough to let the sheet hit the ground and bounce three or four times and brakeup into pieplate pieces, before I ran over some of it.

Heading up Hwy 74 around noon

Don't know whether anyone will be coming this way, but we should be going through Murphy, NC between noon and 12:30, may have lunch at the Nantahala Gorge River's End Resturant. See you this afternoon!

Dragon 1, SSR 0

Tomorow is the Dragon Run, and we have already lost our transmission. On the way up here it stopped shifting into overdrive, then wouldn't shift into 2nd gear. Gina's husband Danny took us to the local dealership this morning, and they said we had metal pieces in the transmission fluid and needed a new transmission. They can't get one until Wednesday, so we are having to drive a rental Trailblazer back home to Florida on Sunday - it's so sad, I don't know if we'll be able to do it!

Today Gina led those of us who were already here on a hair-raising high speed drive through the most beautiful mountain roads you have ever seen. It was an incredible time (except for the fact that we had to do it in a Trailblazer!).

Tomorrow the Dragon....

Sorry to here about your tranny going ca blewy.

If it makes you feel better, you're not the only one with tranny problems today. Went to drop off some peices at a metal shop tonight and then to the local McDonalds for my sons birthday party. on the way there Microsyncronous nothing. No first gear, second , third or fourth. Only thing that worked was park.

Luckily it wasn't in the SSR, but it was in the beefed up Blazer I've been using as a daily driver. Towed it home where it will sit till after the power Tour.

Sorry for side tracking here, now back to the dragon tales.
