Thursday Evening 5:00 PM Meet & Greet at Laurel Park Inn. The pavillion area will be open until 10 PM and then will close so that those fanatics that choose to go to bed by then can have quiet time. (This has been a slight problem in the past!!!)

We are located right down the street from Maggie Valley Inn & Conference Center. As posted on the forum, the pizza has been cancelled due to the large volume of people so dinner is on your own. We will still be serving margaritas and soda with light snacks. This starts at 5 PM. Parking is very limited. I have some parking on the side of my motel and we can use the “Prudental Insurance” beside my place after 6. DO NOT USE THE NUMBERED SPOTS. THESE ARE RESERVED FOR MY PAYING GUESTS For those in good health I am requesting that you walk over to allow parking for those that aren’t.

TAKE NOTE, THE PIZZA PART OF THE MEET & GREET HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LARGE VOLUME OF PARTICIPANTS. ALSO THE TIME HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 5:00 TO ALLOW TIME FOR EVERYONE TO GO OUT FOR DINNER ON THEIR OWN. I DO NOT HAVE ROOM FOR 200+ PEOPLE TO EAT

We will be serving margaritas and sodas. Ice will be available if you prefer to BYOB. Also MDCSSR will be be boiling peanuts in his "goober boiler". Anyone else is welcome to bring any food item that they choose. I will have assorted chips out also.

DONT FORGET TO BRING WALKIE TALKIES (channel 7), WARM CLOTHES (it gets cool in the mountains at night and at higher elevations in the day), CHAIRS FOR THE TRUCK SHOW

Friday: I am offering 3 different cruises for this day because with 110 SSR's its to hard to keep them all together. Also past attendees will enjoy a new place to visit.
1. The Dragon Tail led by (I need a volunteer) Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap and Cherohala Skyway, Graham Co, NC
2. A cruise to Mt. Pisgah Inn for lunch. Good food and a great view on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Friday Evening Cruise-In The GM Truck show is having a cruise-in at the festival grounds Friday evening at 6:00 PM. Jeff Cody (the promoter) OK'd the SSR fanatics to participate. This would be cool cruising along with the older GM trucks. There will be a group cruise through Maggie Valley with food available for purchase afterward. For those that plan to participate, l encourage you to be there 5:45.


Saturday- A cruise to the GM truck show. The price for admission for SSR fanatics is $5 per SSR. You must be there by 10:00 if you are entering in the "SSR" competiton categories listed below.

Saturday Evening: Dinner in the banquet room at Maggie Valley Inn & Conference Center. THE COST FOR THE DINNER IS $25 PER PERSON AND MUST BE PRE-PAID BY APRIL 21ST OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND
There will be a social hour beginning at 5:00 and dinner will be at 6:00. A band will begin at 8:30 so bring your boogie shoes!

If the weather is good and their is enough interest I will organize a ride over into the Smoky Mtns. National Park. Its on the other side of Cherokee. It would take about 30-40 minutes to get there and then we can ride up the mountain a bit.

The overflow hotel will be the same one as last year. This is the closest one to me that can accomodate the overflow. They also have the only banquet room in Maggie Valley. They are the only hotel in Maggie Valley that has a restaruant and lounge also.

Unfortunatley my small hotel cannot begin to accomodate everyone. I really dont like having a business involved with the rally but I dont have much choice. Therefore I am forced to make business decisions. I handle this group just like I do all groups, the ones that stayed the first two years get first choice. Also I will have to do a 7 day cancellation policy this year. I have to do that due to the fact if I get cancelled on, the others will have to be able to get out of their reservations to fill mine. Also I will have a two night minimum.
