I am starting my thread earlier this year due to the growing number of participants!!! Many are anxious to make their reservations now.


The following schedule is subject to change. Its still early and I wont be able to go do some serious scouting until November for the cruise on Friday.

(Take Note, the meet & greet has been changed to Thursday this year)
Thursday Evening 6:00 PM. Meet & Greet at Laurel Park Inn. Pizza-Margaritas-boiled goobers (courtesy of MDC SSR)-Alabama Woody may bring his fish fyer. Everyone is welcome to bring something. Show off your culinary skills!

I'm not sure how the pizza will be paid for yet. To be determined.

Friday, a day cruise with a lunch stop somewhere. We have been to Pisgah Inn the past 2 years so may change it up this year. Maybe a cruise over to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Park.
Friday evening-Parade. The GM truck show promoter has talked with me about us being in this. Not in stone yet. He is working with the town on this. If dinner is not provided after the parade (he is working on this also) dinner will be on your own. Buddy up and go with your pals and I can make suggestions on places to go.

Saturday- A cruise-in to the truck show like last year. I hope we can make it in 'Truckin Magazine and Truck Builder Magazine again! Lunch will be on your own. They have food at the show and nearby restaurants also. We will have a dinner and banquet Saturday night something similar to last year.
The banquet room we were at last year is the only one in Maggie Valley. If they get enough hotel business like they did last year, there will be no charge for the banquet room.
Danny & I will not be doing the cooking this year due to the growing number of partcipants. The hotel will be preparing the meal for Saturday night. I dont know what the cost will be yet but will post that as the time gets closer.

There will also be a "long distance" award.



The overflow hotel will be the same one as last year. This is the closest one to me that can accomodate the overflow. They also have the only banquet room in Maggie Valley. They are the only hotel in Maggie Valley that has a restaruant and lounge also.

Please PM me if you are attending the 2008 Maggie Valley Rally. Include the following info in your PM:

Unfortunatley my small hotel cannot begin to accomodate everyone. I really dont like having a business involved with the rally but I dont have much choice. Therefore I am forced to make business decisions. I handle this group just like I do all groups, the ones that stayed the first two years get first choice. Also I will have to do a 7 day cancellation policy this year. I have to do that due to the fact if I get cancelled on, the others will have to be able to get out of their reservations to fill mine. Also I will have a two night minimum.

Considering coming for Friday and leaving on Saturday after show; still too early for me to lock in.

Reasons for not attending if I dont attend:
1. Work (vacation is not always a vacation no matter what)
2. Bad weather; talking snow or rain the entire weekend (hate cleaning after a dirty run)
3. Extreme gas price, talking over $4 per gal

Reasons for coming? Will just too many to list
Should have a few more additions to the car
