I am starting this thread to get an idea of how many people are interested in attending the 2009 Maggie Valley Rally. I know with the huge TX rally in June that a lot of people wont make it this year.
I dont have an agenda in stone yet (I wont to get and idea of attendance #'s first, this can affect the group ride routes).
Thursday evening-Meet & Greet
Friday-Ride somewhere in the mountains (thinking of a ride into into the Smoky Mtn Park this year after lunch possibly at Harrahs Cherokee Casino)
Saturday-Attend GM truck show (and those not interested in that can do the dragon tail or I can set up another ride) followed by a group dinner/banquet of some type on Saturday evening.
Count Me and Julie in...we had a great time last year was our introduction to the SSR group. One question can I bring my bike? Then she can drive and I can ride. We are there..

Well since you will be retired, just ride your bike down the weekend before and attend the Harley rally and just stay until the SSR rally.

Count us in for MV 2009 (might be early again this year) -- we had a GREAT, GREAT time, thanks again Gina, A ride on the Sky-way would be nice --That was a Cool run from Lk Lure, See ya there, Mike & Marilyn
I was just looking at Google map to see how many miles that would be for me and it say 2,328 miles.
What funny is it says I can do it in 1 day and 10 hrs.
That a lot of coffee to drink just to keep my eyes open.

I think that's based on you NEVER stopping the truck for 34 straight hours

Gina,
Count Crystal ("Catwoman") and I in for sure!
Also, assuming that there is enough interest, I'm certainly up for putting on another SSR car show of our own, during the GM Truck Show on Saturday morning, much like we did this year. I got a lot of positive feedback about it from folks who participated this year, as they enjoyed the friendly, yet spirited competition. I remember seeing some really serious detailing going on in the 2 motel parking lots leading up to our show.

Great! Go for it Alex -- a little friendly competition is enjoyable -- see you there -- Detailing?, I used the car wash across the street from Dan & Gina's.

Can't miss it! I'm there for sure, unless I'm lookin up at the turf!
Alex, the truck show was well done, and if we have enough folks attending it should hold off the rain! (Oh... right... it didn't work last year did it!)
If you need help, call on me.

Sorry, we have to pass, this year. We had a blast running with you this year, and even tho we ran alone last year, we can drive the area seat -of-the-pants.....
We'll miss going to Norfolk, too. We'll just have to tear up the Left Coast next year.
Hope to see you year after......

Bud,
Thanks for the support and the offer to help! Yes, even having 94 SSRs competing at the show was not enough to fight off the rain. We'll have to get Gina to work a bit harder in perfecting her "no-rain" dance for next year, won't we?
Fanatic Mike Radovic and I have competed in several car shows since this year's Maggie Valley Rally. But I'll have to say, and I'm sure he'd agree, that the level of competition that we had at our SSR show was by far the toughest we've seen this year, with so many evenly matched SSRs. It gives me quite a rush to get that many of us together like that....it's quite a site to behold!
Gina,
papa & "papotoy" would not miss for any reason.
Dan,
Glad you're committed to coming. Heck, you've got to show up to defend your 1st place trophy in the "Best Stock Wax Job" award from this year's show. But you're a "marked man" now, and they'll be gunning for you.
