Friday – Friday Run Blue Ridge Parkway/Mt Pisgah Inn Cruise
We will be taking a cruise to Mt Pisgah Inn/restaurant via the Blue Ridge Parkway. I know some of you in the past have already been to the Inn but lots of the newbie’s haven’t. Because of the large numbers of SSR’s I am limited to where we can go because of parking. Mt Pisgah Inn has plenty of parking. In the past we have always went there via 276 which means we have to go through Waynesville and deal with all the traffic lights and getting separated. That’s why I have chosen the Blue Ridge Parkway, none of that to deal with. This is a longer and slow route (about 50 miles, 45 mph limit on parkway) but a very beautiful and scenic route. The restaurant does not take reservations so there may be a long wait when we get there. If you do not want to wait I suggest you take hwy 276 or hwy 215 back to Waynesville and have lunch there or back in Maggie Valley. If you return in smaller groups or singles you will have photo opportunities that you don’t have when we are traveling in large numbers. The pull offs on the parkway are much too small for large groups to stop all at once. Coming back the route we came would also allow some GREAT photo ops. You may want to pack a cooler with snacks and drinks instead of having lunch at the Inn and just enjoy the scenery on the way back.
We will depart from the Ghost Town parking lot at 10:00 AM SHARP.
4 PM : SWAP MEET @ Maggie Valley Inn and Conference Center.
Saturday - 9-12 Show & Shine Click on link below for all the info
Where: Bowed Up Archery in Maggie Valley. Bowed Up is located about a mile up the road from Laurel Park Inn. It is a bow and arrow shop that has moved here from Waynesville a few months ago. It has a brand new indoor archery range.
If any of you are interested in shooting some arrows let me know and I can arrange a time and date. This business is owned by the owner of the paving company Danny works for. He is really enthused about us having our show there. He has a big parking lot also!
6 PM - Dinner Banquet and Car Show Awards- This years banquet attire will be a theme. It is going to be a “Hillbilly” theme since were in the mountains. I am not having a costume contest (I just want to have fun with this). But if you come properly dressed as a hillbilly you will receive a ticket. This ticket will be used in a drawing to receive a prize I am going to make myself. It will be SSR related (of course). I will show pix of this as progress is made. (hint, I can sew & quilt) In order to receive a ticket for your costume , you must be dressed head to toe , no exceptions! Dont wear a just a straw hat with your regular clothes and expect to get a ticket. I am working very hard on the prize so put some effort in your costumes PLEASE!!!!! Check the following link for progress on the quilt:
Pics of the quilts are in post # 3. One quilt is for the costume give-away and the other is going to be raffled off.
I have the banquet plans ready! The menu is going to go along with the hillbilly them of the Rally this year. (Dont forget to wear your hillbilly attire as posted in post # 1 on this thread. You will be eligible to win a SSR themed quilt made by me if you dress properly) Me & Danny are cooking the pork. The old timers may remember we cooked the pork the first two rallies also. The menu is simple therefore I was able to keep the cost down some this year.
Cost per person: $15.00

Pulled BBQ Pork
Baked Beans
Cole Slaw
Hushpuppies/Rolls
Corn on the Cob
