No, we did not meet. I saw you, though. You were windmilling around with tons o' tickets for sale, and every time you seemed headed in my direction, I scooted out of the way!
And, I saw what must surely have been your R, and my R was dirtier than your R! If that had been in the contest, I'd have won!

Another short story....we needed to take up a collection of $ so we could have bought BudHorse some sunscreen. That poor guy was cooked. The last time I saw him on Friday, he was this color:

I've been known to give the moderators a bit of ribbing now and again. So I should bring up some good stuff too.
At the lunch on Friday Marianne and I had the pleasure of sitting with John and his mom. We exchanged stories and had a very nice lunch. All of us were wanting to go to see Chimney rock so we took off for there after eating. We got to know each other quite well while hiking up to the top of the falls. Mom enjoyed the view from a rocking chair. It was about a two hour hike and there must have been 4000 steps. I can't remember the last time I went up a flight of stairs so my calves had a good workout. They finally felt normal on this past Thursday.
I occasionally have some issues with heights but I was not too bad on this hike. John and Marianne however were having a bit of difficulty. It took quite a bit of coaxing to get them to climb the steps to the Chimney. Once on top neither one would walk anywhere near the railing and both of them did stomach crawls to peer over the edge. The entire hike neither one of them would go near the outside rail.
All in all we had a great time. It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with our newest moderator. Thanks WOW and say hi to Mom for us.

thanks...I had a great time. I still think both of you should have gone into the cave! since I did 2 hours of hiking on the EDGE of a mountain! I was surprised that I wasn't hurting after the hike, but maybe it was because I was walking so slowly

Saturday morning breakfast
Ok here goes.
A few of us decided to head for Joe's pancake house for breakfast (Marty and Dee, Jeff and Terri, Marv and Judy, Vetttegirl and Mr vettegirl, Pasta Mike, and Fuzzy and Mrs FUZZY.)
We cruise up the main drag toward Joe's. When we arrived the place was packed. Must have been 50 people sitting outside awaiting tables. Hardly a place to park.
We decided to head for another joint. Well it was closed.
We pulled into Beaujanlges. Turns out it's a fast food place like McDonalds. We opted out of that too.
Across the road we spied a little Mom and Pop joint. We made our way over and parked in a separate lot (paved).
When we walked in the sign said seat yourself, so we chose a couple booths and sat down. In our booth was Lon and Lauren Pasta Mike, and the Mrs and I (FUZZY).
The waitress came over to get our drink order, when Pasta Mike asked for a chair to be brought over for the end of the table. The waitress with out missing a beat walked over and got him a chair. When she returned Mikes face wnet long and his eyes were bulging out of his head. The waitress in her humor had brought him a Kids High chair. We all cracked up laughing. Even the waitress. She then Took the chair back and brought him a regular chair. and proceeded to take our orders.
The rest of the time there we spent talking and telling stories, and Lonnie and Pasta Mike were both trying to encourage me to move into their area of Florida. I'm still researching that idea.
After breakfast, we were surprised inspite of the Waitress' chair humor that Pasta Mike had grabbed the bill and paid for the entire breakfast for our table.
Thanks Mike.
So that's one little piece of what happend in Maggie Valley.

That was funny! I wish we had gotten a picture of the look on Pasta's face!

This must have been at "Underwoods". We rarely go out for breakfast but when we do this is where we go. I love their strawberry biscuits.

Its got to be, its the only breakfast place across from Bojangles. However, Bojangles does have some good biscuits if your in the mood for a "quickie".
Much better than any other fast food restaurant that I know of.
