Nashville TN Area - Day Cruise June 13th

Nashville TN and Surrounding Areas SSR Owners - Day Cruise Saturday June 13th - WEATHER PERMITTING.

Lynnville TN is approx one hour south of Nashville TN and is the home of one of the oldest Soda Jerk Junctions in the Country.

Big Johnny's Grill and The Soda Pop Junction are rated #1 in Tennessee for Hamburgers and #2 for Milk Shakes.

This soda shop was featured on The Food Channel program 'Unwrapped'. The whole town is a historical landmark with a population of under 400 people.

Besides a place to eat there are the following attractions:
Colonel Littletons - Purveyor of Fine Accoutrements - Americana Store
Lynnville Market and Main Street Gallery
Lynnville Antique mall
Lynnville Railroad Museum

Plus More

including a Quail farm if you are a hunter.
Go to Welcome to Lynnville.org for more information

WEATHER PERMITTING:
I have never been to Lynnville but I would like to take a drive out there and wanted to know if any other SSR owners were up for a day cruise. We would meet at Franklin TN (I 65 and Hwy96 – meeting at the Big Lots parking lot at 10.30am on Saturday JUNE 13th. – directions as follows – exit I 65 at Hwy 96 and go west go through first light and Big Lots parking lot is immediately on your right) We would leave by around 10.45am ish). Rather than taking I 65 south (most direct route) we will divert to country roads for the drive down. It should take about 65 - 70 minutes to get to Lynnville. We could all have lunch together at the Big Johnny's Grill and Soda Pop Junction and then we can take our time and look around Lynnville and each make our way home at our leisure. I have already spoken to the local Chamber of Commerce and Big Johnny's Grill and we are more than welcome to come. Big Johnny’s Grill would like a heads up of approx. how many so they can set up a table for us. The local corvette club and different motorcycle clubs have previously done cruises to Lynnville.

If you are coming from another direction we can just plan to meet at Lynnville around midday.

Please let me know if you are interested in coming.

Thanks

Kiwi

UPDATE: THURSDAY JUNE 11TH
THE WEATHER FOR SATURDAY IS SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WITH A 40% CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION - TODAY WAS 60% CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION AND IT RAINED FOR THIS MORNING ONLY.

I AM HAPPY TO GO AHEAD WITH THE CRUISE FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO COME.

UPDATE ON MEETING INSTRUCTIONS:
FROM I 65 EXIT AT EXIT NUMBER 65 WHICH IS ALSO HWY 96.

HEAD WEST AND AFTER YOU CLEAR THE EXIT RAMP (IF COMING FROM THE SOUTH YOU WILL CROSS OVER THE INTERSTATE, IF FROM THE NORTH, AFTER YOU TURN RIGHT, GO THROUGH THE FIRST INTERSECTION (AND LIGHT) AT THE NEXT LIGHT (WITHIN 250 YARDS OR SO) TURN RIGHT INTO THE STRIP MALL PARKING LOT - BIG LOTS IS HERE.

SEE YOU SATURDAY 10.30AM

KIWI

I always thought the Nashville area would be a great place to hold a weekend SSR rally someday. It can be reached in 8 to 10 hour drive for most of us midwest Fanatics

Unhappy Lynnville Cruise

I have been looking at SSR's for a while and am picking up a purple '04 tomorrow. I would like to meet and talk to other owners so the cruise sounds great. I look forward to meeting you. Allen

Thanks for the welcome. I'm in Nashville. I really look forward to meeting other SSR owners. We are retired and get to travel a lot, but my Crossfire roadster trunk is hard to pack for a very long trip. Now the SSR will allow us to make longer trips in a roadster.

Welcome agebhardt - look forward to having you join us.

Sounds like we will have a great cruise - I will pm each of you with my cell phone in case anyone is running behind schedule or gets lost. There are gas stations right by where we are meeting in Franklin if anyone needs to fill-up before we hit the road.

I agree

I agree with Phil.
What a fun weekend in beautiful TN. Great topless weather, great friends, great food, and of course great trucks.
I sure wish I had a milkshake from Johnny's Soda Pop Junction, right now!
Thanks Jeff & Beth for a great idea and running with it.
