If you are joining the NASCAR Museum/ Hot Air Balloon Race Cruise
Friday ~ Sunday, October 21 -23
Please let me know so that I know how many rooms to block at the hotel. Plan to arrive early afternoon on Friday October 21 check-in early at the hotel so that we can meet and drive to dinner by 6:00pm at North Harbor on Lake Norman.


I am so sorry to have to change the hotel and restaurant locations for the NASCAR and Hot Air Balloon Cruise in October. I had rooms blocked for us at the Sleep Inn at Carowinds on the NC/SC state line. Over this past week five (5) hotels in that area have had cars in the parking lots vandalized; the vandals then high-tailed it over the state line. It is for that reason that I have moved our hotel accommodations to Cornelius, NC. I have been to the police department in that new location to verify that the new hotel is safe, they have no records of any problems and promise that they will make sure that a police cruiser checks on our vehicles while we are there.

Because of the hotel location change I have also located another restaurant on the next exit above the hotel for our Friday night dinner. All other events associated with this meet are the same.

Again please accept my apologies but I would not want to stay where there have been break-ins in the area and will not let you stay there either. You will positively love the new hotel and the restaurant. If you have questions or concerns please PM me. See you here on October 21st for dinner on Friday night at North Harbor; we will meet in the hotel parking lot at 6:00pm to travel to the restaurant.

Friday night:
Group dinner;steaks, seafood& salads with adult beverages if you so desire.

Saturday:
Early AM breakfast at Cracker Barrel on I-77 at exit #36 .

Cruise to Statesville, NC for the Hot Air Balloon Races.
Entrance fee $10.00 per person CASH ONLY.There are NO debit cards/checks/or credit cards accepted for food/drinks Cash Only due to no electrical service on the air field. Be Sure To Bring a Lawn Chair or a Blanket to relax and watch the show above your head.

Then to Charlotte for the NASCAR Museum tour. Entry fee Adult $19.95,- Senior (60+) / Military $17.95

Saturday night dinner is open for discussion, lots of choices in the area. We can decide during lunch on Saturday based on how much energy you have left.

Thank you that's a good idea; that would add an additional 50 miles to the route planned thus far. We could work that in after lunch on Saturday; But I will let them tell me if they want to add that to the plans. Thanks for the good suggestion, I had forgotten about that one.
