Skipping MV GM truck show (Sat. May 3rd) - Doing Tail of the Dragon instead
I'm stirring the pot...so to speak
Last year I did not attend the GM truck show on Saturday and I'm not going to this year either. So how does this affect you? It doesn't unless you also don't want to go to the truck show.
I was thinking of doing a "second" run of one of the 3 runs that will happen on Friday.
It is my intention to hit The Tail of the Dragon early Sat morning. Saturdays are more crowded than weekdays, therefore earlier is better.
So I am inviting anyone else who isn't planning on going to the truck show to join me for this secondary run. Just post here and we will see how this can be done.

Saturday Run !
If my health is still holding out I would like to join you on Saturday. I'm afraid it will be one of those last minute calls as to whether or not I can make the drive.

I've decided to Lay-Low and stay away from the dragon this time. Maybe next year will be a better time for me!

Saturday ?
I'M DOING THE DRAGON ON FRIDAY ALSO. WOULD CONSIDER GOING ON ANOTHER RUN SATURDAY, ARE THERE OTHERS THAT AREN'T INTERESTED IN THE TRUCK SHOW. IF THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST I'LL START ANOTHER THREAD. NOT MEANING TO STEAL YOUR THREAD OR CHANGE YOUR MIND, JUST LOOKING TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY INTEREST IN DOING ONE OF THE OTHER TWO RUNS.

I would like to remind everyone attending the Maggie Valley Rally that it is during the GM Truck Show that we are planning to have our own "car show" for the fanatics. If you wish to be part of this and to be among the ones judged, you'll need to be there. I can understand if some may not wish to be in the competition, but I was hoping that the majority of fanatics would attend so that the more "judges" and voting that we have the more meaningful the awards will be.
I'm not sure exactly when Gina plans for us to show up "in force" at the GM Truck Show, but it was my intent to get our own judging done early on after we get there to free folks up to do whatever they want later.
BTW, having as many of us there as possible sure makes for one hell of a group shot....maybe even worthy of appearing in a magazine again! Plus, with the exception of the banquet on Saturday night, the GM Truck Show affords us all the only other opportunity get together as one large group to interact.

Well here are my reasons for choosing this:
1) I have done the MT Pisgah.
2) I have not done the Chimney Rock...and would like to do this Friday with someone who knows the way.
3) I want to do the Dragon again. I know it will be more crowded on Sat. but I'm still going to do it.
I don't expect many people to take this offer because of the Car Show, the Dragon Tail being crowded, or going to Gatlinburg for shopping.
