As we say on the Left Coast, "Post it, and They will come"...

Just pick up the parts you want and post a date. It can be "massaged" from there...

Just don't make it too close in... give enough time to gather parts and wrenches, not to mention the "food"... What's a gathering without food !!!

well, i wish i had the room for a few people here, and the tools to use, but i dont.

hoping this thread may convince someone else (with a big garage) to try and "host".
im more than willing to do my part to help.

i guess this thread could be considered the start. but who knows.

Well, you have a great place to start.... the desire ! Tech sessions will usually start small, and then evolve from there.... All you need to start is just some space, basic tools (they'll bring their own, too), space for eating, and it will just grow from there. You're going in the right direction... Don't give up on it... You'll do good...

You might post what it is you have to install. That may give others the idea that they would like to join in.

Thanks Ron, I had a Tech Session in NC last June.

We had 12 SSR's there. It was well posted and attended.

Host was Marti Pridmore, 2fasttoon and he has a LARGE garage and FOOD!

I am thinking about another Tech Day which will include Mike's Frame Stiffener and Joe's LC32 Cross Member.

Not sure we can get it done until next year though.

Heartbeat Dave has asked about Tech Day for the Alabama/Georgia Fanaitcs.

So there some some Tech Days coming.

nothing particular. maybe soundproofing in the storage area (and doors).

didnt know if you started by getting a group together, then deciding what to do.
or if one person says "hey i want muth mirrors installed."..then the process starts from there.
just wanted to throw an idea out there and see if anyone else was interested before the end of the year. it can wait.
i missed out on the one in NC because of family in town. so that was the closest session i have seen to me in a few months.

i know dicktator may not always be able to do these things up this way. but hopefully something can come together.

IF there is enough intrest, I would do a Tech Day in November. But it would have to be in a Warm, NO, make that a HOT Garage.

I am a Floridian, you know!

Dick..tator,
I am looking forward to meeting you. I have heard much about you, and it is only the bad stuff I am sure. :-)
Anyway... I could hold a tech session here. We are new to all this, but are looking forward to getting involved with the group.
I have a garage, air compressor, tools.. (well some anyway) and some air tools. I only have a small floor jack and no ramps. But if we could come up with those tools, we could have a good time here.
Since we are new, I really have no idea exactly what to expect. But if 10 to 15 cars attended, we could have 20 - 30 peeps, we could do that. I have not run this by my wife as of yet, but I know she will be game, as she can't wait to meet some permagrins.
Just lemme know ok?

Thanks,
Charles

I'm in Winston Salem NC, and would be happy to host a tech day if there is interest. I'd also do the Mike's radiator mount and maybe fan. I've done small stuff like chrome grill bar, hood cap, spare tire, etc.

OK, Charles, As they say "Open mouth, insert foot". I would LOVE to do a Tech Day in Coral Springs!

I have:
1. Muth Mirrors, see thread. $195. installed
2. Center Blinking Brake Light #28. installed
3. Soundproofing for doors/roof compartment. $45. installed
4. Soundproofing for roof compartment vents. FREE & installed
5. Steel Radiator supports from Mike in AZ $178. installed
6. Ignition Switches and install $30. installed
7. 5" Stainless Tips from Mike in AZ $140 NOT installed
8. Mole Skin for tinted windows. $10. per SSR installed
9. Stainless and Brushed Air Dams from JimBob/Cailf. $60. Brushed/$70. Mirror Finishes
10. LC32 Cross Member Support, see Thread. Have not got cost yet to me from Calif. Depends on Freight Cost.
11. Frame Stiffener from Mike in AZ $235. installation instructions and help.

Now Mirrors take 2 1/2 hours to do with two people, which is the longest time for any upgrade.

The WeekEnd of Nov. 13th is Fantasy of Flight Rally near Lakeland but the follwing weekend it OK.

It's a little late in the year to START planning for 2010. How about penciling in a date here in Winston Salem in the late April to May 2011 time frame. That will give you time to get the stuff you want to install (maybe get a little something for Christmas). My place in west Winston Salem. close to I-40.

Please comment if you are interested so we can gauge interest.

Thumbs up

Hey Diktator and Charles,

Count me in on the tech session in Coral Springs on 11/20 if it works out.

I have bought several items from
Auto Parts Warehouse | Car Parts, Truck Parts & Auto Body Parts Online - Free Shipping on most Auto Accessories & Performance Parts – AutoPartsWarehouse

They have the Muth Mirrors unheated for $139 and heated for #162.93 with free shipping and they send out 15% off email ads.

While the door panel is off is the time to do the insulation and mole skin.

Please let me know how I can help.
