My first rally with the Fanatics was in Maggie Valley; to say it was wonderful and amazing does not do it justice, Thank you so very much!!! The caliber of folks that I met exceeded any expectation that I had upon my arrival. I will not name names because I will forget someone; but you know who you are. I can still see the faces of these extraordinary people. You are dedicated to your hobby with a passion, you welcomed me as a friend, offered help and solutions on concerns about my “R”, even took the bug juice and gifts from a bird off of my hood with something called Pig Snot, I am stunned by your genuine friendship. Some of you made trips from as far away as Las Vegas, Canada, Florida, Michigan, and Mississippi. The friendships made and conversations enjoyed on Gina and Danny’s porch at the Laurel Hill Motel will remain in my heart forever. I look forward to many more rallies with you, thank you again for the welcome into your group. To the “real man” that provided the margaritas you did a hell of a job. Stay safe and healthy until we meet again!!!!!

Meg,
I noticed that on Friday, when you were having trouble with your convertible top, you pulled out a green two volume repair manual. Can you tell me where you purchased them?

From the GM Dealership the two book set was $130.00 and is the actual manual used by the dealerships. The problem I was having with the top was getting a message in the DIC saying "Top Timed Out" the Fanatics there advised to keep trying to open and close until it reset itself; that worked just fine. Since there was no numerical code for the problem I was unable to find the answer to that particular issue without Fanatic assistance.

Good to meet you Meg. Wicked gleam in your eye whilst pulling out of the Laurel in the purple truck. Hope the drive was as good as the expression and you are able to attend other get togethers.

Hi,
Let me chime in on this. I purchased a set of 2006 manuals and they were delivered to me in Maggie Valley. From what I was told, there is also a dvd or something that is available. The impression I got was the manuals were a challenge to find.
I had top issues also and took the SSR in to a Chevy dealer today where they have a guy who has been through a couple SSR schools. I showed him my manuals and he said they have all that infomation in their computer as well. We had the black one in Maggie Valley not the silver one in the photo.

The factory manuals are available, just some dealers don't want to order them for you. Gene at GM partshouse .com can get them and is cheaper than most dealers. As for the dvd, don't waste your money on it, it has problems from what I have heard about it. Alldata.com also has all the info online along with all the TSB's GM has issued.

Hi,
Thanks for the information, appreciate it very much.
STOP IT !! you are making me cry. I am so privileged and honored to be accepted into this unique group of wonderful people.
I would really love to go to Florida for a Tech Session, any input on that? I need sound proofing, Mikes Fan, front stiffners, and that is only a start
