Cost will be $12.
Looks like we will have decent weather. Hope to see you there.

Our SSRs fall into either class "0" for 2001-2009 stock trucks, or class "P" for 2001-2009 modified trucks.
There are classes for all years & models of other trucks. About 26 different categories in all. Three trophies to be awarded in each class.
Here is the email address of the event organizer if you have more questions: cntrilltruckshow@gmail.com

Yeah, PRPLHZE, come on down!
There are a lot of very cool custom & hot rod trucks. Always some of the early Chevys that our SSRs were designed to resemble.

We're hoping for good weather and it looks good on the extended forecast.
Not sure how many SSRs will be there. I know of 3 for sure and could have as many as 6.

I'm seriously thinking about it... coming down sat, getting a room, doing the show, and having a leisurely stroll (drive) back home just in time to work on Labor day getting forced by senority sucks!!!!!
I don't suppose you could recommend a nice hotel? Nothing super fancy and expensive, yet don't want a dump. Somewhere reasonably cheap, but clean!

According to mapquest, it is 358 miles or 5.51 hours for me
Will have to do some deciding... I have to be up at 7am on Monday. Depending on how long the show lasts, determines how late it will be when I get home.
NOBODY should have to work on Labor Day!!!! thats what its for, a day to celebrate no labor )

I hope this helps.
OR, if you want to gamble, there are two hotels in East Peoria that are near the "boat" Hampton Inn and Paridise Casino Hotel.
The ones that Flying Dog gave you are just down the road from the car show, less than a mile. Hope to be there, so far so good.

We still don't know for sure if we can make it. If Monday was an ordinary workday, and I didnt have to be in until 12:30pm, instead of 9:30 am ( i work 75 miles from where i live.... )
Thanks to office closure, what can ya do?
Anyway, still thinking if this can be done.... If the show ends at 3pm, I'm sure we wouldnt be leaving right at 3, and its almost 6 hours back
I want to come.............
Should I or shouldn't I?
I need to make up my mind!

It rained all night and has been raining this morning.
I don't know what the truck show organizers will do. They could reschedule it or go ahead with it anyway. I'll see what happens by start time at 9 this morning.Good weather was predicted all week...till last night.

New Report
We just got back from breakfast out at a diner and the sky is clearing up some. Soooo, I'm going to take the hyper-clean SSR over to the truck show!
Hoping for some sunny skies later.
Report and pictures later.........

The Show Went On!
There were 4 SSRs at the truck show today.
It tried to sprinkle on us several times during the day, but all-in-all it wasn't bad. The overall turnout wasn't as good as it would have been with sunny weather.
Terry (FlyinSSR) and me from Peoria, Mr Merlin and Achias from the north.
We all received trophies for the class we were in and Mr Merlin even got the "best engine" trophy.
Sorry, I didn't take many pictures, but maybe Achias will post a couple more when he gets back home.
Pic 1: I was 2nd to arrive in the "stock" class and Mr Merlin started the "modified row behind us.
Pic 2: Still a little rain but more trucks begin showing up.
Pic 3: All 4 SSRs.
Pic 4: Terry(FlyinSSR), Dave(Achias) & his wife Karin.
My SSR: 2003 "Ilsa" True Duals w/Jones Glasspacks, Eibach Springs, Addco Sway Bars, 4.56 Gears
Yep, it was good seeing Ron & Freida, Terry and Merlin (and wives whose names I don't remember - sorry) at the truck show. I just can't get enough of that supercharged R with the flames.
On our way out of town after having dinner at the Kaiserhof on NW 150, we came across another Slingshot R. Was that you Golfer2? What a cool surprise!

I really like that last photo of Ilsa posing for the little girl and her father. Very cute!!!
Maybe they will own an SSR someday.
It was good seeing everyone yesterday...can't wait till the next event.

Sounds like a plan!!
You should consider coming to Mi the first weekend in October for the Fall Color Tour. The official thread isn't up yet, but is coming soon.
It will be a great time!!!
