Any SSR owners groups in IL?

Hi,
I am new to the SSR Fanatics, and wondered if there are any groups or clubs in the Chicagoland area? Just got a 2005 Ricochet Silver with Purple Ghost Flames. Have wanted an SSR since I first saw one at the 2001 Auto Show.

Smile Welcome

Glad you got your SSR. There have been several posts from Illinois but I don't know if there's any club formed. I think we fall into the great lakes division. Mine's in the garage and won't see asphalt until May 1st or if someone wants to buy it.

Thumbs up

Welcome to the SSR Fanatic family!
There are at least 4 members in central Illinois and I know of 3 or 4 that are closer to your area.
I don't know of any active clubs, but many of us go to various SSR meet & events around the country. Just keep eye out for the different events coming up during the year. We will be attending the Colorado Rally in July and there is the annual Truck Show in here in Peoria in September. There are some neat things always going on in Michigan, too.
Again, welcome to the SSR fun!

Does it count if I bought it there?

Hey, how far is it from Peoria or Joliet to Decatur?

Peoria is near the center of the state. Joliet is about 100 miles N. E. away and Decatur is about 70 miles S. E. from Peoria. Distance is slightly different depending on which route taken.
By the way, I bought my SSR in Fon Du Lac, Wisconsin 4 years ago. It sure was a fun drive home in the cool looking vehicle.

What city in IL did you purchase your SSR, yellow tub?

I actually bought it in Decatur when we were back for my FIL's funeral in Sept of 05... Drove it home and Rebecca flew home.. took me SIX days!!! Ever try to find Beach Boy's music in Decatur Il? I came home topless almost all of the 1600 miles

I still go back to "winterize and de-winterize" the house that we can't sell I'll be back there within the next month to get the gardener started and just check things out. I usually fly into ST. Louis and drive to Decatur for a few days and then fly home again.

I bet that was a fun trip back home in the topless yellow SSR!

Yes, I know the housing market is bad in most places right now.
PM me (with your cell phone number & I'll send mine) when you come back to Decatur. Depending on what I have going on...I might be able to take a little SSR drive and meet you for lunch somewhere.

Cool, RoadsterJim!

I know Achias (Dave) lives in Davenport, Ia. We've gotten together at a couple of outings.
Contact us when you get there.

chi

I am in Chicago - Hyde Park.

I haven't met up with anyone. I tried, but no one wanted to burn any fuel. Can you blame them?

Give me a shout out and perhaps we will play follow the leader on a full tank.
