Is anyone going to the Colorado Run July5th-9th from Missouri or Kansas. If so, would anyone be interested in a caravan to Colorado. We are leaving Sunday July 4th. Please let us know!!!

If we go, still an "if", coming from GA we are planning on staying just East of St Louis MO on the 3rd, then staying in Oakley KS on the 4th and then on to CO. for the 5th.
I see you posted this in the Great Lakes Section but you don't show any location info by your avatar, does this come close to what you are planning?

MO - KS Caravan to Colorado
We are going to leave Parkville, MO (North Kansas City) on Sunday July 4th. We plan to drive to Hays, KS (20,000 pop.) Oakley is about 85 miles west of Hays but is only 2,000 pop. I think a better selection of places to stay. Colby or Goodland would probably be better than Oakley, they are both about 4,000 or 5,000. Redline Dan aren't you from Joplin. Your most direct route would be to take the southern route, US 400 across Kansas (Wichita, Dodge City, Garden City then to Pueblo, CO then north to the Springs. If anyone wants to go with us, we plan of leaving about 9:00. We will be taking my 05 Ricochet. We are going to take her 05 Aqua Blur to the New York finger lakes tour in September.

Is staying on I-70 a better bet than taking 40? That was the reason for the Oakley stop. I-70 is probably faster but Google maps the path with Hwy 40 as the route.

I-70 is a four lane Interstate, US 40 is a two lane highway 65 MPH with slow downs and possible speed traps through each little burg you go through, your choice. We will take I-70 from KC to Limon, CO then US 24 to Colorado Springs, about 75 miles.
