My husband and I will be in the quad city area this weekend. We'll arrive on Friday and leave sometime on Sunday.

Is there anyone near the area that would like to meet up for a little bit??

I wish I could be there! The Quad Cities are my second home and I still have a lot of friends there.

If I could be in Davenport for only one day, I'd have to make a visit to the Iowa Machine Shed restaurant a top priority.

We consider the place simply wonderful. Excellent food and the home made banana cream and coconut cream pies and apple dumplings are worth the drive by themselves. It's a rustic decor and just a downright homey place to dine. It's located not far off I-80.

We never had a bad meal there ever. And, we used to live only a mile or so from there. It's always one of our must go to places when in the Quads.

Another place is Stashu's Deli on John Deere Road in Moline. The absolute best calzones are made there.
