Fate and a car gathering.....

FINALLY!.. My wife and I got it together to go to a local sports restaurant/bar (Jerseys) for a bite and to check out some hotrods and old cars. As we pulled in, we saw the place was packed and wondered where we would park.... Lo and behold a guy with a flag motions to me and directs me to a spot in among the rods and I smile this big smile and pat the SSR dash and say thank you my sweet little Teardrop..

We go the crowded outside deck and I hear, "Hey Jeff!..over here." ...and there was a friend of mine I hadn't seen in over 20 years standing there waving us over to his table. We caught up over a few brews and he stated that he redone a 56 chevy over a 3 year period and pointed it out in the lot. I saw it was a gorgeous two tone and knowing he knew as little about mechanics as I did, asked how?.. Apparently he met this old guy who had worked on cars since he was 15 and did this with my friend and his son helping. He laughed and said the old man told him, "Lenny, there will be a time when you can't help me anymore and I will ask you to stop." We both laughed and knew exactly what he meant. Lenny was moaning and saying, "He wouldn't even let me sand!".. But the car is simply beautiful.
I finally now have a bud to run around with to car shows and he knows all the hot spots so look forward to it and maybe finding a few SSR's among the crowd...

Thanks for thumbs up guys and it was fun. Hell.... after buying raffle tickets for cash drawings, I had told my buddy that my wife is always lucky at this stuff and no sooner than I had said that... they announce numbers and my wife won $25.....the lucky chit. So $25 bought the drinks...

I loved the variety there and really like this convertible Rambler....yea..a Rambler... had a Cad CTS converted interior with in dash GPS. Also a V8 but not sure which. Sounded real good when he left. Someone even had a Bentley GT there...very cool.

Cool stuff! I can't imagine the work required to fit up the rambler with all the CTS goodies and engine. Someone went through a lot of trial and trouble but the end results are incredible.

That Bentley has a V-12 supercharged engine putting out over 550hp so it has the bite to back up the bark... Very nice car.

I know..that is what attracted me to it. I asked the owner/builder if he had lots of trouble and he just shrugged and said, "Not really."..lol

I kept watching for the owner as I went around to other vehicles and got distracted with a '70 Cuda like I used to own in my younger days and talking to that owner. I did finally look around..only to see the SSR leaving the lot..... and I was just too far away to chase him down. He did have the plexi windsuppressor on it so thought maybe the owner might be on here. Oh well...maybe next time.....

or not....
