My poor wife is such a great woman. She is scheduled for out-patient surgery Monday to remove a buldge in her disc and we have been in limbo since Mothers Day over this injury. She has been reduced to resting in a recliner since then as she can't sit staright up nor lie down. She can walk around some but then the pain starts in her leg and has to rest. Needless to say, our home has been in a vacuum since then....... anyways...
She did go with me last weekend to a furinture store to pick out furniture and as we were coming out the door...lo and behold, I see a SSR coming right by us and parking next to our car! I went over and introduced myself and met a very nice couple. It was a Slingshot and the wifey had yellow sunglasses on..lol. I asked if they were a member of this forum and they didn't know about it and I invited them to check it out. Especially when he said he was unhappy about the running boards being whitish and couldn't get it off. Told him there was a fix on this forum. I told them I never see SSR's around here and he said they weren't from this immediate area but heard this store had great furniture. Here's a wave to ya guys if you are peekin'.... anyways..
My wife sees that I have that damn look in my eye as we get in the car and leave. Our SSR has sat in the garage since February and even though I have it cleaned up purdy good, I have waited to take her on the maiden voyage.
She tells me yesterday to get the SSR out as we are going on a ride. I look at her with a puzzled look and she explained I had waited long enough. She loaded up on some of her pain meds, took a good sip of wine, and off we went. Teresa absolutely feel in love with the truck as we went for about a 30-40 mile ride out in the country...top down, music playin', and us smiling that big silly grin and us just enjoying moment.
She's really going to love the truck when she doesn't need the pain meds and wine! Then you'll probably never get to drive anything else. I'll say an extra prayer that all goes well tomorrow with her surgery.
I do believe driving or riding in a SSR out in the country side is the best medication anybody can take.
Will say an extra prayer for your wife so that all goes well tomorrow with her surgery.

Best wishes from central Illinois!
Those country drives with the top down are always the best!
We hope your wife gets fully recovered and can enjoy your SSR even more.
From 2 states over, best of luck!

Thank you everyone for the warm wishes, prayers, and thoughts. I know the idea of going under a knife is no ones idea of a great time but if it means getting her back well again and being able to enjoy life again....well...lets git er done.
You are right though..... those country cruises are the perfect med for what mostly ails ya. The SSR is the perfect cruiser. Can't wait to get her back out again!

I love cruising in the country. It is the best therapy for just about anything. Glad you got to go out and enjoy your SSR. I hope your wife feels better soon.
