HRG's Stepping Down Need a Volunteer
Ladies and Gentlemen
I am stepping down from my position as the MI SSR Club Host and WDC host for this next year. My life is taking me in different directions. I will teach anyone that is willing to take it over all the in's and outs of running these events.
It's a tough decision for me to make but one that I need to do right now. I will finish off this year but starting January 1st I will no longer be planning SSR Runs nor running the 2009 WDC.
I hope someone will come forward.....we need some fresh meat here
My is still very important to me and so are all of you.....but this time I need to put myself first
Please consider this position and speak up in this post if you are interested. I would like to have a replacement by Jan 1st of 2009.

Here are a few things that have been on my mind....I've been thinking about this since March of this past year.
I love to volunteer my time and find a greater joy doing that then being paid in any job I've held. Right now I need to take my career up a notch which isn't going to allow me the time to plan and participate in runs. I'm not burnt out nor is it the work....working hard never bothered me it's in my nature.
I'll miss it but I also know that anyone can fill these shoes.....Scott???
I have very much enjoyed putting my heart and soul into this title and I know someone out there will also give as much.
I've been looking at a career change and I am strongly considering doing it...need to get my eggs in a row.

You have been doing a wonderful job for the MI group as well as the Fanatics in general. We will all miss your participation but, If you have a goal in life you cannot get there without the proper amount of effort. Go for it and them come back and tell us how wonderful it is to accomplish what you set out to do. We may miss you in the process but will be happy to help you celebrate in the end. in a couple years.

actually you have made it very easy for anyone to step up and continue with as much gusto as you have put into these runs. And it will make everyone even more respectful of the amount of thought and effort you did put into it New beginnings, bring new ideas and adventures.
Good luck with your new path. I know you will be great at it, no matter the direction you go

Judy this Michigan group has been the best...my heart so loves each of you for bringing diversity into my life I will do my best to make runs that are planned by whom ever takes it over. A chance to see all of you from time to time will only enrich my life and make for greater success!!! You've all been great supporters!!!!!!!!!!
Deb, I’ve been a member of this crazy SSR Fanatic family for almost two years and from reading all the threads and posts of all the events that you have put together, I must say you have gone above and beyond the call of what most folks can do in a lifetime. Yes, you will be hard to replace, but it can and it will be done somehow as this group is a big and strong family that anxious to step up to the plate.
Best of luck on your new career endeavor.
XOXO
You will be greatly missed! You made Judy and I feel welcome to the MI group from the beginning. As stated by all previously, you've done a fantastic job not only for the MI group but for the Fanatics as a whole.
We wish you the very best and found from experience that a career change can be a GOOD thing. I made one after twenty years in the same job and worked another twenty after making the change. I was NEVER sorry.
Still hope you can make at least some of the runs.

You're The Best
Before I ever became a member and made my first post, I knew a lot about you.
(I was lurking and reading)
You were one of the Fanatics I most wanted to meet in person. As soon as I realized you were comming to Maggie Valley in 2007, I told Kim.
I was excited to finely be able to meet you.
You (Steve too, I guess ) always have a place to stay on the Georgia Alabama line.
We WILL see you again...
I sending a "special mostly Baptist, Southern, Fired Chicken, Hug to you"

I KNOW you'll always be around. Unless the World as we know it Ends.
That's why I said,
"we WILL see you again".
I agree, you have done your time which I Know would have to be a "Labor Of Love".
I also feel someone "up there" should step up to the plate and give one of my "Darlings" a little break.
I would if I could, but can't so I won't, so Please "no one jump ship".

Debbie, good luck in whatever direction life takes you....from what I've seen of your dedication and hard work in your "projects" you will do well. Please stay involved with your "fanatic" family and hope to see you next year here in the great state of Texas at the 2009 International Rally....Love ya, Marion and Linda
In So Cal... we take a more relaxed approach to it... if you want do something... post it... & we will come... That way it doesn't put pressure on anyone person to host ALL the events... and it allows everyone to enjoy.... Laughlin/Artsmart & C1Trob... Reagan Run/Bluethunder & Bad Bob.... Disneyland/Hatterhead & the Mrs plus Bluestreak .... Peterson Museum/Autodan.... San Diego Monthly Cruise/Umpire 13….Christmas Run/ME! Etc....
HRG has done an amazing job... but heck that is a lot of work for just one person... Jump in you MI folk... Maybe volunteer to host one event...lift the load... Its fun to host & its fun to participate!!!

I really like that approach Marty my buddy my pal and the one whom I knew would call me about this and WDC. I spoke with him today......Marty doesn't want me to stop hosting the MI site and we spoke briefly on some of these topics. I can't even begin to tell you what this wonderful couple was willing to do for me...talk about watching out for your own!!!!
I'm getting ready to take on another job I will not have the time to participate in runs over the next year or so......one that I will do my best to attend will be the Texas Rally this coming June. I have to see JACKWALDROP again wildcat66,blueroadster, ssrmadox and many others from the Texas area that I adore!!! Heck I haven't even had the time to book my hotel room with the way my hectic life has been
Anyway.......most of my Michigan group are a little shy about coming forward and planning and many want me to post the info even if....I would really like to see this group continue even if I'm not present. In Michigan we have a short enough season as it is!!!!
