Job Opening-Hosting the WDC for 2012

Job Opening -Host for the Woodward Dream Cruise

I am calling it quits on hosting the Woodward Dream Cruise in 2011 (this will be my final one) and am hoping that one of our Great Lakes fanatics will step up to the plate to take it over in 2012. Think I've given enough notice

2011 is my baby..... planning the 5 year end of production SSR reunion with LCC/ASC coinciding with WDC of that year and I am very proud to be working on this one (which is currently in the planning stages now along with 2010) Can't think of a better way to go out

I am tired and want the break (and my poor hubby needs it too). I started hosting the WDC in 2005 and ran it solo since that time (a small group of SSR's formed on Woodward in 2004).....I'm ready to move on. If someone would like to work side by side with me in 2011 I will teach you the ropes of what needs to be done when organizing this great event. You can also work with me this year if you would like.

There is no pay (sorry) but you will reap the rewards of socializing with your peers and taking pride in knowing you represent our wonderful state

Only interested candidates need to reply or PM....I'll be looking forward to hearing from you!!! I hung on a few years ago as no one would come forward....I AM NOT hanging on after 2011!!!!

I am thinking that the 2013 in the title is a typo judging from the text. You might want to get one of the moderators to correct it before you get too far along and find out that 2012 gets skipped. You have earned the break and Iknow you would be gone after this year if 2011 were not so special. We all appreciate what you have done but I am not moving to MI to take over.

Deb, you're the best for doing this for so many years!

It takes so much in terms of time, energy, stress and $$$ (!) to host this type of event.....thanks so much for all you have done and will do through the 2011 event.

Somebody please step up to the plate and take on this challenge, so it does not simply fade away.

I too hope someone steps up....Woodward is a wonderful experience I've only missed two of the 16th annuals ....that's a lot of time on Woodward (ya have to understand lower Woodward for that laugh)

I am enjoying my time working on the SSR Heritage Section and I want all of my focus to go towards that now. I'm never fully out of volunteering my time I always find a way to keep doing it It is gratifying and I'm sure someone else will see it that way too

Deb, you are one super energetic SSR owner. Hopefully you slow down and enjoy life, somebody either will or won't fill in. Either way you have done a marvelous job and shouldn't feel guilty about relieving command. Good work.

I remember...........

January 2006. Amazing, wasn't it Deb.......

You might be stepping down from the WDC, but you can't get away from the family.

Hope we can find someone to fill those energetic little shoes..

Mike

Memories I hold fondly and always will Just because I'm letting go of Woodward doesn't mean I don't have future plans of reuniting with those I hold close to my stick shift I just don't want the year to year commitment anymore. I will continue to build that relationship over the years for all to reap the rewards

Highrider you should know me better than that.....I don't want to slow down ..that is how I enjoy life

Deb, I can understand wanting the break. I've only done the covered bridge tours for 3 years and already feel a bit of burnout on it. And I got help!

Until you do it, nobody understands the work/TIME involved. I put 175 mountain miles, 1/2 a tank of gas and 8 hours into the MV run today just scouting out the route. Also missed 8 hours of potential walk-in customers due to my office being closed. Its a labor of love.

I hear ya Kev Sometimes its good to step down and let some fresh blood take over I love this forum and the fanatics that come with it and especially those that commit to Woodward and of course my . But year after year making a commitment and always knowing in the back of my mind that I have other ways I need to go the only thing to do is to break away I'll miss it but we all have to make decisions when our lives call for it mines calling

Yes Gina you're right.... it is a Labor of Love Time for someone else to give some Love
