Lake St. Clair Solo Cruise
Ok LTssr and RRR ...you two got me thinking "hey I might not live by the coastal highway but I am just a short drive away from a lake highway" Jefferson!
So off I went and to my amazement I was very happy with what I found
70 degrees prompted me to uncover Boopster and spend the day clearing my mind and soul She ran beautifully ........enjoyed the sunshine as much as I did
So here we go.....Welcome to one of the Great Lakes
Lake St. Clair
These photos are on my way there w/ a few errand stops to make first.
My new Boopster shirt Jessie bought me at wally world for $3.00 ...she's such a bargain shopper. The flag at the USPO and the bike path to Metro Beach (everyone was out enjoying the weather today) I was wondering if anyone was at work

Lake St. Clair
I stumbled upon a little tiki hut and pulled in
A little Island Paradise called "Luna Kai"
reminisce that summer is not fully here yet but its sure did remind me of our 25th Wedding Anniversary Key's trip. I will be returning with Steve when it opens for a tropical drink or two and watch the sunset
FYI (Great Lakes members) this is inbetween 16 Mile & Crocker on Jefferson

I so enjoyed this place and decided to kick back and take in the wind blowing in my hair and watch a few boaters on the lake. I was the only one there made for even a better mind and soul treat
These look really great, and an inspiration to do solo exploration (that way, i wouldn't "have" to admit I got lost, eh?).
Now that I've got the Scoaster back from the shop, I find myself thinking... "hmmm, I'm hungry for 'fill-in-the-blank', what can my GPS find that is at least 45 minutes away! Ah ha ha, the open road beckons me (even burning the expensive stuff)(argh)
question: how do you get the photos to attach? I figured out how to post to my gallery (though not how to sort the photos into categories), but haven't yet 'really' tried to post a photo in a thread.

Glad you were able to do what we do all the time in the west coast.
Your pictures are great Debbie as I enjoyed them.
This is a SUPER post with great pictures.
There are so many places in the good ol' USA for cruisin'. Sometimes they're so close to home, we overlook them.
I'm taking this as a wake up call to get mine out and cruise the Niagara region in western NY.

Sometimes the best runs are the ones you do solo you have time to think about what pictures you want to take w/out any distractions and don't have to worry if you lost anyone (except yourself) . It's a wake up call for me too I used only a 1/2 tank of gas and look what I found close to home

Great pics HRG! We've done the "circle tour" of Lakes St. Clair, Michigan, and Huron so far. Been most of the way around Erie and seen the Michigan side of Superior. I really want to do the circle of Superior, but waiting until we can get a small motor home for that one. I'd imagine that trip will take a couple weeks, where as you can do Michigan and Huron in a week if you keep moving. I find I'm constantly drawn to those magnificent lakes! In fact last Labor Day we stayed at a great little place right on the St. Marys river joining Superior to Huron. Just a couple hundred yards from our deck the 800 ft. freighters were crawling along after passing through the locks. Love the water!!

When you get the opportunity to do so I have to recommend these areas. Back in 1995 returning from an out west trip to Yellow Stone and various other land marks we stopped in the Upper Peninsula and stayed for one week. Please be sure and add the Porcupine Mountains to your list as well as a stay at the Mouth of the Two Hearted River Campgound. We did this trip in our fith wheel w/our four wheelers.......a trip none of us have ever forgotten.
These are scanned photos of this area
Pic (1) Lake Superior ... you cannot stay in this water for long Jessie seeked out shelter on a rock and this was in July
Pic (2) Summit Peak in the Porcupine Mountains ....1,958ft w/ an obervation area you get a view of the park, Wisconsin, Minnesota, the Apostle Islands, and Copper Peak.
Pic (3) Presque Isle River Area in the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park
Pic (4) The campground view from Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State
Pic (5) Sunset at the Mouth of the Two Hearted River State Park

You're killing me HRG! The last time we were at the Porcupine Mountains my kids were probably 10 and 6. Now my Son is 34 and my Daughter is 30??!! We visited Tahquamenon Falls again last Labor Day after a real nice Lakeshore drive in the R. I can't say we've really ever explored that Two Hearted River, but your photos have put it on my to-go list. Your 5th photo is spectacular! I hope you saw the last 2 Wing's games?! Both nights a goal with .3 seconds left to tie and win a game! Oh Yeah, it was the beard with the winner last night!

I know I killed myself as both of my kids were young when we went too
The SSR has taken front stage over the past 6 years thinking the kids were older now and wasn't interested in camping anymore. However, my family has grown (interest is still there) with a new grandchild on the way its time to show the grandchildren what we did for the kids....as in all things they return and so our camping and four wheelin days are back with the family Our goal for this year is to resume where we left off A camping trip is scheduled for Memorial Day and as often as we can get out over the summers.
BTW....no I didn't catch the games but heard about them
