After the SSR picnic, I want to take a tour of michigan. How long and far is it from Lancing,MI to Milwaukee going North over the Saginaw Bridge into the upper peninsular then South to Milwaukee? Can I do it in one or two days? Thanks, njssr... aka, Ken from NJ.
I believe you mean the Mackinaw Bridge. It connects the lower & upper peninsula of Michigan. Yes two days would be VERY doable. I would suggest using www.mapquest.com to tell you the time frame. You'll need a beginning and ending address.

My wife and I are heading up to Traverse City (Sun. - Thurs.) from the Picnic. She has a girlfriend up there, from there we are planning to go over the Mackinaw bridge, head to her fathers home town in the upper pennisula, then back thru Wisconsin.
Yeh, That's the ticket! Sorry I got the wrong name. I watched a show on The History Chanel about the Mackinaw Bridge. I've never been up that way. I'm looking foward to a road trip! Thanks for the response, Ken.
That route is the long way around, but very scenic and enjoyable. Check the AAA website for road construction because it can really affect traffic on 2 lane roads, which they all are after the Mackinac Bridge.
From the last time I made that trek, it was about 500 miles and 12-14 hours. Allowing 2 days will give you a lot of opportunities to sightsee.

Its a little vague, but currently we are planning to drive through, Stevens Point, Appleton and we have to make a stop in Janesville, for some beer and brats.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, I forgot to mention the Wisconsin Dells. The jet boat rides are a kick if you've never done it!!! The Indian Casino is just down the road and has some good food.

There is a large Corvette show in Mackinaw City (just south of the bridge) on the Saturday after the WDC. I'm driving my SSR up to visit friends and view the show.
