Michigan's on Fire w/ Blazing Colors for 2010
As Gina and I always do.....it's time to show our fall colors
Not much time anymore to get Boopster out but today was the perfect day as Michigan's on Fire w/ Blazing Colors for 2010 along with a 75 degree day made for all the right makings for a road trip to enjoy it
I am on search for the perfect tree for the fall photo contest and here is what we saw along the way

I would think the colors down this way should hold for that long at least.......and I am sure you will enjoy it as much as we did
I'm heading back out tomorrow as I hear we have another gorgeous day on tap rain comes in for the latter part of the week.
Enjoy your trip should be a beautiful one!

We really don't get to see much of the "changing of the season" here in Tucson! Not many trees or saguaros change colors here! LOL
But the weather is great 90% of the year and we can be top down 80% of the time!

Oh and how when its every bit of 20 degrees here.... I envy you
I've always said that if I ever left Michigan this would be one of the four seasons here that I would return for ......pictures never do justice to what the naked eye can see. It is every bit as sepctaular as the best firework display you have ever seen in your life
It is truly a beautiful season...the anticipation of its entrance is always welcomed right up until the last leaf falls and then we become a twig state ...until Spring

I do like that bike! I usually splurge and get one of those big Mums to go with my Fall decor outside. I buy several of the smaller ones though.
I am going to try and get out tomorrow (Mondays arent to busy) and see what our color is up to. Not much down here but up in the mountains there should be some nice stuff.
Great pics. Deb!! Fall is the season Karrie and I miss the most since moving to Texas 16 years ago--no real color change here except the grass going dormant and turning brown , oh, and a few of our shurbs go from green to red.
As a west-sider Kensington was my Metro-Park growing up and we'd go to the Franklin Cyder Mill. No real seasonal traditions like the color tours and cyder mills here in Big D...but Friday night high school football--now THAT's an institution that's really pretty cool to experience here in Texas.
Nice pics...but crazy how close I am to you yet see very little changes here yet. The maples are starting to turn some. It was 88 degrees here today and absolutely beautiful out so off we headed south to Amish country. Hoping to get a late afternoon buffet and some good cheeses...... We get down there all hungry and stuff and it hits us when we get to the first town of Kidron. It is sunday......nothing is open on sundays... Soooo....we just drive and drive... enjoying the sites and the buggies were everywhere....and they do some walking as scores of em were walking along the roads (from church?) with their family. They all are so friendly and waving and smiling as we went by Then bingo!!!!...we found a place to eat and a cheese shop across the street was open also and got some swiss, smoked gouda, and some wonderful smoked alderwood to go..... so a few pics of that. Look close in the bell tower and they have a bear up there by the bell??????????

Paceguy, you mentioned Kensington and that's where we were headed today to do the 8 mile bike loop. Some friends showed up and we spent most of the afternoon with them and didn't make Kensington, but Hudson Mills (another Metro Park closer to us) instead. They usually have spectacular colors there, but this year looks a little blahh!

Got a few photos today but not any good ones of the foilage. I was in a hurry, had to get back to work. Our colors have not peaked out yet, probably in another week, its been to warm.
Great pics and I really like that first one of the blur....gorgeous shine and love the sun glittering off the front. Worthy of the fall photo contest. Those apples look killer too.....and reminds me to get out to the orchards near here and grab me some. Sure miss the mountains living in Ohio.

Thanks. I didnt buy any apples but I did buy a half gallon of fresh apple cider. I am going to have a hot cup of it this morning and then maybe an apple cider martini tonight. I looked up a recipe last night online.

Yep were behind, not enough cool weather yet but we will be getting some soon. One more warm day and its supposed to cool off. last year our first snow was October 15th. We have had one very light patchy frost so far and thats it. Record highs yesterday. Its supposed to cool down soon though. This will extend our leaf season which is good and put us working through the first weekend in November.
It's such a shame that the current beauty of fall has to be followed by bare trees and white/dirty snow lined, cold and frozen streets. But then, I'm just an old humbug who grew up in Alaska and could not get to Texas soon enough.
Thanks for all the wonderful pictures, it reminds me of a couple of years I spent in New Hampshire, in my youth.
YOU GUYS HAVE ALL THE GREAT COLORS FOR GREAT PICTURES. ALL WE HAVE HERE IS TAN HERE IN THE DESERT.
HEY GINA IF YOU CAN GET YOUR TRUCK INBETWEEN THE SQUASH AND THE BACK GROUND AT THAT ANGEL I THINK IT WOULD BE A WINNER.

I thought the same thing. Only about 3 feet of room though.
Maple trees are just starting to turn here in North Georiga. This photo was taken last year about the end of October. All Maple trees we have we planted.
