I picked up a 2004 SSR last Thursday after much research (mainly from this forum). I am not unlike many of you from what I have read, an ex Corvette owner and a biker. After 7 years I wanted something else that I can drive in the winter, and hopefully, haul, and/or tow my Motorcycles in. From what I have had time to read so far, this forum is full of folks not unlike the Corvette forum I was in, and the couple of Motorcycle groups I am involved in. That is, the forum seems chock full of extraordinarlily intelligent, attractive and wise beyond their years members.

That's a wild paint job on the SSR!
I have owned a couple Vettes and a couple of bikes, & I'm bettin' you'll enjoy the SSR too. Let the fun begin!

Welcome to our forum that R looks familar did you purchase it from Car Max they had an 04 with that same stripe?
Good eye, Lou........I did indeed purchase it from CarMax. I first saw it about a month or so ago at the CarMax in Indianapolis but was going back and forth on getting rid of the Vette. Then it disappeared so I thought I had missed out on that one. Then, it reappeared about a week and a half ago at the CarMax in Nashville so I went to a local Chicago area CarMax, made the deal and had it transferred up here. I was hoping someone could ring in on the flame graphics. I don't know if that was ever an paint option as I couldn't find any other slingshot yellow SSr's with that option when going through the forums gallery. It is very well done and clearcoated over if it was done aftermarket........
My SSR: "Kate" a Haughty Redhead, '06 Redline FPR 6 spd. #23333 Build Date 2/16/06
I believe yours was previously out of Schaumberg, IL.
Not sure if I am interpreting your query as to the flame job correctly but GM only had flames placed on Pace Trucks. Ghost flames were placed on the original UV Pace, backup Paces #4 & 26 and also on the 4 multi-flame 2003 & 2005 Pace trucks. Any paintwork done to yours was custom done by an owner.

New member Steve;
Welcome aboard!
I really like the color on your SSR (YELLOW RULES!!!)
Due to the weather here in Michigan, all of our rallies and runs had to be postponed until better weather comes our way (6 or 7 months give or take).
Once we get started up again, we'd be proud to have you come over and do some touring with us.
Sorry I'm late to the party here, Steve, but from another Chicago SSr owner, welcome!
Did I see you maybe last week in the the far south suburbs?? I saw a yellow tub in South Holland early evening and I swore it had something on the sides...
