Nice weekend in Chicago

Just got back from Springfield on Thursday after a minor re tune for the R. FYI there is a nice shop located on the South end of Springfield that has a dyno and tech who is good with the HP tuner programs.

Got the R running better due to my fuel mileage dropping off and not liking the throttle responce time. All of this has been corrected and a few more things have been fine tuned. I am for sure happy again.

Did a trip to downtown Chicago with the R and again heads turned as we hit town. Again as we left the crowd stopped as we put the top down and many questions delayed our depature from the hotel.

On the way home near Shcamburg we ran into a R with GGOLF on the tag. Not sure if he is on the site, but we did wave as he passed us. Later on we passed a R near Joliet, was not able to get the tag since he was going North and we where heading South on 55.

Glad to having my R running strong again. Anyone needs the contact information on the Springfield shop, drop me a PM.

We will do that on the next trip. This week end was my Wife's sorority sister week end/aniversary celebration. One couple was celebrating 4 years, we where at 5, and the other couple was at 33 years.

We do have a couple of shows this week end downstate. Monmouth Maple City Car Show is on Friday night, close to 2500 cars for a one night show, then the Gibbs Chevy show in LaHarpe, IL on Satruday, and just found out about a car show/swap meet/ice cream social on Saturday in Brimfield, IL just outside of Peoria. Not sure if I am going to Monmouth on Friday night or not, waiting to see if it cools off with the temps.

Terry,
I attended the Fred Gibbs Memorial Car Show last year and won a plaque for small truck category. I also met Phil (Royalshowing) for the first time there. Phil drove up from southern Illinois. He also won a plaque. It was a very big show and a lot of fun even though I got sunburned bad. This was before I got my Panama Jack hat.
I'm not planning on entering this year because we have many other things going on.
Ron

Cjanke, thanks for the reply. The good warm weekends are short, so enjoy the golf and the top down days. T
