ivcruiser,
I also replied to your PM.
Achias lives just about 50 miles west of you. I met him when he came to Peoria for a meeting a couple of months ago.
It would be fun to try to get a group of SSR owners together for conversation and food/drink.
Let us know if you set a date.
ok guys how's this....we can do a get together either may 9th or may 23rd (both saturdays) at the Starved Rock state park, beeee utiful settings, lots of good places to eat in the lil burg of Utica just 2 miles away, we can even go up to JC Whitneys which is about 2 miles away from Utica. and have a line up there for a bit.
being just back on here, you all know more about who/how to get ahold of the "central ill SSR's" than me . what do you all think?

I like the idea of meeting in Starve Rock State Park. It is beautiful there!
Let's hear from Golfer2, FlynSSR, D.Price, Achias, and any other SSR owners who would like to participate in this. Could be a fun time, especially if the weather is good!

Ok Guys Ill Throw This Out And See What Sticks:
Sat The 23rd, (the Later In May Hopefully The Better Weather?)
At Starved Rock State Park ,
10 Am Till ??
Every Body Bring A Dish
Or Every One That Comes Pays A Lil Bit Prior To Offset Food Drinks?
Or We Cruise To Down Town Utica And Eat On Our Own Or I Can Make Reservations As Long As I Know How Many.
Or We Can Eat At The Lodge There At The Park.
Or There Is An Old Fashioned Drive-in Burger Joint Less Than 4.5 Miles Away Also!
I Can Even Get Some Dash Plaques Put Together For The Event (as Long As I Know How Many To Plan For)
10 Am Meet And Greet
12 Noon Lunch
1:00 Leave To Line Up At Jc Whitneys?
2:15 Go Back To Starved Rock ,explore Park Or Hang Out At Shelter And Talk Shop.
4-4:30 End Of The Day.
Ideas? Thoughts? Comments?
I Can Make The Arrangements If You Want!

Scott,
I like your ideas. Count me (Ron) and my wife (Frieda) in.
Once we know how many will attend, I like the idea of getting reservations at a restaurant where we dine together as a group. Separate checks would be fine.
Like we said before Starved Rock area is beautiful, especially in May!
Let use PMs, email, phone, or whatever means to contact any other Fanatics we think might be interested in making this run. The more the merrier!
Okay, chime in anyone interested in attending... Let s hear from you! P.S. Tony, Terry, Dave and us could drive up together caravan style. That would be fun!

Reason: Adding stuff
ok i pm'd mr merlin and achias to see what they thought. it looks like myself, flyin dog and flynssr can make either date. tony just let us know what works best for you, (i know how kids birthdays are belive me!) but if you could make it back a tad earlier before the 2nd that would mean 4 of us for sure for that date.and ill just wait to see what the other 2 have to say before i call the park.( they like to have at least 30 day notice but i know i can fudge that a lil bit)
the truck show in princeton is on the 2nd BUT it is "mostly" semi's, bucket trucks, buisness vehicals, and civic types. i had my 59 apache there 2 yrs ago and was 1 of 3 pick ups. the rest were as i mentioned. its ok ...something to do. but if you want me to put something together i just need a confirmed date.

Tony, you have all the money. Ron and I are still working here in the cold and wet Peoria.
I would vote to find a place to take us in for lunch with individual checks. The Lodge or a hamburger joint is OK with me. Not to much in favor of having to load up some dish to transport and keep from spilling in the R if you know what I mean.
Ron & Tony let me know about getting together for a caravan to this outing.

There should be 4 of us in the caravan. Tony Terry Dave Ron
ok all ,Saturday the 23rd of May looks like its the best date to suit the most people. meet at starved rock state park (lower area by river). Meet-n-greet at 10 am,leave to cruise to "the rootbeer stand" drive-in for lunch around 12 noon, leave at 1 or so to cruise to J.C Whitneys to check that out, leave around 2 ,back to park and hang out and take pics till maybe 3-4? ideas? thoughts? comments?

Once we settle on a date that we all can make.
Ron,
It looks like it might be just you and me on this run. Tony mentioned a grandaughter b-day party on the 23rd and Dave made mention that he will be in Vegas the 20-27.
T
guys
the reason that the 23rd was picked was because the majority of those that pm'd me said this date was best. the other weekends in may (for different reasons for different ppl) just didnt suit. is this still what you al want, i need to know so i can tell the park.
