2.Ruth not wanting to watch Glen (the dare devil) standing where he should not have been. He didn't fall off the edge.
3.scenic view from top.
4.another fall view.

1. Palms Book State Park. Big Spring. Very beautiful and you can see to the bottom. (45ft.) Raft goes across and back. If you have the strength to work the wheel.
2. No problem for for Elizabeth. She can handle anything.
3. Elizabeth with Captain Glen.
4. Looking down 45 ft. Very clear.
5. Poor Karen, missed the boat. Maybe Scott gave her a personal ride.

Pure Michigan!
Karen and I want to thank Glen and Elizabeth (Harlyguy) again for one of the best SSR tours ever! And to think it was in our own back yard of Michigan! The weather turned out perfect and the colors and senary was beautiful. The pictures don't do the colors justice. You had to be there.

We want to thank Glen and Elizabeth again for a very motivating tour. It was just the best. Good company, good weather and I am so glad I live in Michigan. Saw things like mountains, springs etc. that I never knew existed. I know there was allot of time and hard work put into this trip. The goody bags were yummy. Excellent job and I want to sign up for your next excursion.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Glen and Elizabeth, you did a great job. It is the best SSR trip we have ever been to. You thought of everything from the wonderful "goody bags" to the step by step itenerary. Elizabeth, I know in another life, you must have been a professional organizer. I know all of us really appreciated the time, money and effort you two put into this trip. We all enjoyed your company so much, even our daily word and Glen, those pie shops were so good.
The weather was perfect and the fall colors had to be seen in person. Scott was right, there are no words. All I can say is, they compared to NY upstate which I miss so much.
Don't want to forget Dave and Joyce for showing up with Ralph's birthday cake. I wish you could have been with us for the whole trip.

I don't know how you guys don't just drive right off the road looking at all those amazing colors. We don't have Anything that looks like that out here. With great Envy, I drool over the pictures! Just Mezmarizing to look at the spectacular coloring.
Sucks to be Me. We got 3 colors.... Green, Brown, and Black (from the Fires)...
Thanks for the Flag for the Bucket List !!! Great Pics !!!

No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery.
We're glad that everyone had a good time
No thanks are necessary (Elizabeth may think differently--she's still recuperating) because we had as much fun and enjoyed the trip as much as anyone else. With a couple of exceptions, everyone was a pleasure to travel with (my favorite was Tucker).
I knew when I was doing the preliminary planning that we would have a lot of ground to cover in a relative short period of time but I thought that since we were already there we may as well see and do as much as we could.
Personally, I could not have been happier with the weather even though we had a cool, cloudy start on Saturday morning. However, the entire trip could have easily been as miserable as it was on Friday evening..brrrrrrrrr.
But, we did manage to get take the tops down for a while.
Now, just to remind everyone, there are 5 weekends in October and the colors are just starting to change in a lot of areas here in the lower half of the state. Apple cider and fresh doughnuts are another consideration
Elizabeth downloaded our pictures this evening and she wants to sort and select before she posts them so it may be the weekend before she does the posting.
Thanks to Glen and Elizabeth for a "Fantastic Voyage". We will never forget the fantastic colors of the "UP". There was a moment when we were all humbled. Our string of SSRs were blowing by everything on the highway, when all of a sudden a little Subaru with two kayaks on top blew by all of us. We got to see spots we never would have known about had it not been for Glen's knowledge of the area. I would like to commend Elizabeth for her 'gentle' leadership. I have never seen such a presence since my military days
1 - Mackinac Point Lighthouse
2 - On the Road
3 - SSRs at roadside in the UP
4 - Colors in the UP
5- Tahqamenon Upper Falls
Sorry, but I didn't realize the origin if my birthday cake, special thanks to Dave & Joyce for their extra efforts. This was the first cake that I ever had that my candles represented decades (I hope not the last). Another special thanks to Glen, another fruitcake connoisseur, for taking us to the Jampot Bakery (operated by the monks of a nearby monastery). I was pleasantly surprised when I unwrapped my fruitcake and the air was permeated by the aroma of brandy. It is a little slice of heaven!

Most of us had never been to the places that Glen took us to, even us that were born and raised in Michigan. What a beautiful state we have.
1: Tahquamenon Falls
2-3: Elizabeth and Ralph and Ruth( the Quests) walked the 94 steps down to the lower falls and up again. As you can see there were only the three of them that were strong enough to do this!!
4: our SSR
5: Ralph taking pictures along Lake Superior. Scott on the beach looking for suveniors.
