Pumpkin Run Car Show and Cruise /Sept 21-23rd

Steve and I are leaving Friday between 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. a little later than I was hoping for

The pizza party is at the Quality Inn between 5:00 & 7:00 P.M. if we don't see you at the hotel we will see you for the pizza party

I did receive a confirmation for the early registration a few weeks back......did you?

Been watching the weather Friday night late is the only chance for rain 30% so far...the rest of the weekend looks marvelous. I will post the forecast tomorrow

I am packing and cleaning the house tonight cause I have to bowl tomorrow night leaving no time to get these things done before Friday.

Seajay05 (Carl & Judy) met a new member in Bay City a few weeks back. Judy gave me his number and I have made contact with him. He has 120,000 miles on his SSR his name is Norman Stevens. Norman will be joining us on Saturday after 4:00 P.M. Norman does not have a computer so I will be keeping him informed of up and coming events via of cell phone.

Home Sweet Home..............

3 1/2 hr ride home top down beautiful weather. Took the back roads home to enjoy the fall foliage Made our way back to I75 exit 144. This trips is usually only 2 1/2 hours but Steve and I had a blast going thur some small towns, taking in the beautiful color changes and scenery.

Pumpkin Run was a blast.....lots of pics to share...weather perfect

Steve and I won the Poker Run coming in third. I picked my hand out of the Red deck pulling two Kings with Jack high. Day two I won a door prize a semi-diecast corvette model truck..........sweet.

Pics to come after I catch up on some rest. It was wonderful spending time with everyone once again. More to come!!!

Pumpkin Run- Poker Run on Friday night.......

After eating pizza and salad at the Quality Inn we got our motors runin and headed for the Poker Run. Directions were to head down to the Advanced Auto Parts to pay a $5.00 entry fee and to receive the instructions from this point.

At this point we were directed to:

Rite Aide Pharmacy
Taco Bell
Walgreen Drugs
East Bay Car Wash

then back to the Advanced Auto Parts to turn in our stamped coupons and pick our hands in cards

This was a whole lot of fun and if I remember correctly I heard a lot of laughing coming from inside these here fanatic SSR's

169 Classic cars participated in this years Pumpkin Run Car Show and Cruise......many participated in the poker run too. It was very cool seeing classic cars on both sides of the the roads while tracking down our locations for the poker run. Many beeping their horns and waving.....we did the same

This is where I had the chance to meet up with Bob Spaulding the Chamber of Commerce Committee man for the Pumpkin Run. Bill was very happy to have us participate and is hoping that we will return next year.

There is no doubt in my mind that Elvis would have owned an SSR.....he was with us all weekend.....and that's NO Joke!!!!



BTW....the red & black basket on the table was my prize for coming in third in the poker run.....it matches the perfectly

Saturday Morning Pumpkin Run Car Show

We arrived at 9:30 A.M. to set up for the Pumpkin Run show As all fanatics know we come prepared. Complete with shelter and SSR Banner which adorned our line of classic SSR's

Elvis loved our SSR's and even took a moment to sing to several of our fanatics. Here he is serenading Dee (Marty's wife)

Deb, we just want to let you know that we had a wonderful time at the Pumpkin Run and want to thank you for putting it together. I enjoyed meeting your mom (who really could pass as your sister, no joke!!!), your sister, and Steve. That was our first time meeting him!

We will definitely go to this next year if you should decide to do it again ( and hopefully Cordell won't be on third shift anymore!!!!)

I wish I could go to the chocolate run/ covered bridge tour, but don't think our work schedule will allow it

Hopefully we'll all be able to ge together again sometime soon. I'll be looking forward to it.

Meet Margaret and her 1956 Thunderbird...........Margaret came up to me the first day of the show when she saw my Betty Boop sitting on my waterfall area. She is also a huge collector of BB. We spoke for a little while then......come to find out the next day that my mother and her knew each other Margaret's hubby admitted to taking photos of me while I was waxing my R and not the rear end of the either He promised since we kinda knew each other he would delete them

Anyway Margaret had a BB tatoo and Elvis wanted to be in on the picture too........(Elvis appeared out of now where)

One of my favorites at the show was a 1960 Impala (pic 4) restored to perfection And my favorite slogan "The Heartbeat of America" I have a statin jacket in Royal Blue with Pink that I still wear today with this slogan on it

Pic #1 1948 Chevy Pick-up House of Kolors "Candy Apple Red" The shows trophy winner.................

Pic# 2 Spent a lot of time with this gentleman as he wants to get rid of his vette to buy an SSR. He asked to see the signatures under the deck lid of my and we talked for a good hour about the history of the SSR. He now has an SSR Fanatic HRG' card.

Pic# 5 Mustang (Lady Owner) very sweet

Between Judy (downshifter and myself) we gave away 6 SSR Fanatic cards to folks that had SSR's and have never heard of us or/ those looking to buy one

We also made contact with Pinky RanDall a large collector of Vintage Chevrolet's, Chevy literature, and memorabilia. Wonderful man!!!! Pinky has sold many restored vehicles back to GM and the GM Heritage Museum. He gave us his card and we are hoping to be able to tour his collection next time we head north. Spent two days with this wonderful man as he also has a love for the SSR!!!
