Rendezvous for Texas Rally?

Fanatics;

If you're coming from the North, Northeast, or East:

Day 1 June 18th.
We will be leaving the Ann Arbor/Brighton (MI) area on Thursday (June 18th) at 6:00AM and we will be going through Ohio, Kentucky and ending up in Dyersburg, TN that evening.
This will be the longest day of the trip at 668 miles/10.7 hours.
We will be staying at the Comfort Inn in Dyersburg, TN.

Day 2 June 19th.
If all goes as planned, we will do a "quick stop" at the Boss Hoss motorcycle factory (these folks make V-8 cycles and trikes) on Friday morning. We will then drive through Arkansas, ending up in Sulphur Springs, TX that evening.
(We may pickup 2 more SSR's near the Memphis area).
This is day will be 467 miles/7.0 hours, all freeway miles.
We will be staying at the Comfort Suites in Sulphur Springs, TX.

Day 3 June 20th.
This will be a day of rest, relaxation, and a chance to wash the SSR's.
It's only 100 miles/2.0 hours to Irving, TX.
In Irving, TX We will be staying at:
Quality Inns & Suites DFW
4100 W John Carpenter Fwy.
Ph. 972-929-4008

Our dinner plans for Saturday evening are for dinner at 6:00 PM.
Y.O. Steakhouse (recognize the name?)
702 Ross Ave.
Dallas, TX
If you would like to join us for dinner, please PM me and let me know so that I can make the necessary changes to our reservations.[/U][/U]
(This restaurant is a 19 minute drive from the hotel but we need to let everyone know in advance of where they can meet up with us).

Day 4--From Irving TX to Kerrville, TX. June 21st.

We will be leaving the Dallas/Ft. Worth area heading toward Kerrville (via I-35) on Sunday morning (6/21) at 9:00AM and we expect to be in Belton, TX by NOON for lunch at Schoepf's B.B.Q.
(This is highly rated in the top 50 BBQ restaurants in Texas).
This is about 150 miles/3 hour drive.

If you'd like to join us at the hotel in Irving, or Meet us along the way and caravan to Kerrville, please send me a PM. The more the merrier!

The final trek, from Belton to Kerrville is about 160 miles/3hour drive, going through Killeen and Johnson City and should be a nice easy "top down" run, weather premitting, of course.

Please check this thread periodically for changes or updates, as I'm sure there will be.

Do you have a plan for a caravan from Michigan to Texas?

My wife will gladly tell you of the infamous travel plans that I've devised in my time.
Some trips have involved planes, trains & automobiles (like the movie), motorcycles, trailers, buses, taxi's and ferry's.
Her co-workers were once taking bets as to whether or not I'd really meet her at the designated location. Luckily for me, I did.

I think we're gonna have GREAT time with ya'll.

Might be interested!

Hi there!!

My husband and I might be interested in caravaning with you guys. We're planning on staying the night in the Arlington/DFW area Saturday night with my step-brother and heading out to Kerrville on Sunday sometime. Let me know what time you plan on leaving and where you plan on staying Sat night. Hopefully we can meet up somewhere and chase one another to Kerrville!!

Michigan/Midwest travel ideas

Even thou we will be leaving Michigan Friday morning I like the idea of stopping in Dyersburg, TN. the first night (Friday). That would be a good place to meet up the first night stop for anyone coming from the north/north east. The second night (Saturday) we could stop in the Dallas area. Then head into Kerrvill,Texas, about 5 hours away on Sunday.
Just thought I would throw out an idea.

We're spending Saturday night (6/20) in Irving, very close to DFW.
Leaving there by 9:00AM on Sunday (6/21) should put us in Belton for lunch before noon, then into Kerrville before 5:00PM.
How's that sound?

Not at all.
It looks like the Dallas/Ft. Worth area could very well be our first rendezvous point.

Actually...

[QUOTE=Scott 0168;617187] Glen, I like the idea of stopping in Dyersburg, TN the first night and Irving, TX the second night before heading into Kerrville TX!

Irving, TX will be our third night as we're leaving on Thursday morning.

Our second night Friday (6/19) will be in Sulphur Springs, TX.
This will make Saturday (to Irving) a very easy day and a chance to clean the SSR's
I like to add a little "cushion" time just in case someone has mechanical problems, etc.

Glen

We will meet up with you in Irving. We are going to leave Parkville (Kansas City) on Friday (6/19) and drive to Oklahoma City. We are going to tour the Murrah Building Memorial and maybe some other OKC attractions on Saturday (6/20). It is only 3 hours to Irving. We will meet up with you all and go to dinner.
