A day run................

Friday April 23rd a cruise and visit to the REOlds Museum then dinner with former ASC employees and Plant Manager Dan Savage amongst other engineers from ASC.

(Meet time will be 3:00 PM @ Museum for anyone that wants to go....if any that do are in my area we can caravan together)

Royal Scot in Lansing, which is the bowling alley/golf course that was located just around the corner from ASC on Felton Rd.

Coming from my side of town......it would be easiest to stay on 96W towards Grand Rapids and take exit 90 which is the Grand River Exit, turn Right off the exit and go approx 3 miles and it will be on the LH side of the road. Turn into the 2nd drive and go to the backside of the building, that is where we will be meeting in the lounge area....Bring your friends along and if you need to, there are hotels nearby if you don't want to make the trip back the same day.

Rumor has that items from the LCC are stored at the REOlds Museum along with an SSR ....need to confirm

It seems the yellow hood may have gone directly there after Homecoming (at least it is confirmed since 3/2006)
but a complete SSR???
I wonder which one that could be, if the rumor turns out true. I am sure you realize I'd be dying for the VIN!!
I tried to communicate through the Olds Forum some months ago hoping to come up with good contacts to the museum
and memorabilia/information etc but I think their "Active Topics" is much different from our idea of "Active".

Well trying to stay one step ahead of you

I figured you would want the vin

so if there is one there I will document it for you!

Camera will be in hand and I'm hoping I'll be able to snap a few photo's

I'd be interested in making this run with you HRG, mid-May gets a little dicey for me schedule-wise, but I'll keep this in mind.

Just got word today that I will be having an ASC meet on April 23rd, Friday....will most likely be dinner at Royal Scott (more info to follow on time). I am planning on visiting the REOlds museum earlier in the day then dinner with former ASC employee's including Plant Manager Dan Savage.

So now you know the date....more to come

Information is now posted in post#1 of this thread except a meet time at the REOlds museum (I will have this posted on Tuesday of this week).

Please think about joining in .....the meeting with ASC will be very informative...you may learn some things you did not know about the build process of the SSR. ASC is very excited about this meet and so am I..... would like to see a group of us participate!!

Spoke with the REOlds Museum today admission fee's and open time are posted in post#1. I am planning on arriving at 3:00 PM just before the dinner time with ASC at 5:00 PM.

Leaving around 2:00 PM for Lansing I just did a 1hr photo (large) of the mural that was in the ASC Plant.....I'm having those that show up today sign it for me as a framed keepsake with my SSR memorabilia

Good Morning, Debbie, I guess, for us, it just was not meant to happen.I am sure that you will have a great time there and hope that you get lots of pictures. Hoping to see you soon,don't know when, because we couldn't do MV either this year. Sure will be glad when we are back in the seat of our SSR. Take care, Girl.

I wasn't aware that you were not attending MV

I hope all is well ? I'll miss you two

MV is the only out of state run I'm making this year, then Woodward and the Lighthouse tour. The rest of the time is camping with my family (something we've been trying to do for a while now)

Julie from ASC, her enthusiasm for the build process of the SSR is very contagious, she is so proud of her time at the ASC plant....she's been wonderful and I'm looking forward to the stories I will hear today. I've already been told several which will be shared in the Heritage Section for all to read.

I made it and ran in to turn the TV on

Gonna wind down a little upload photo's while watching the game (multi-tasking).
Enjoyed the chit chat on the way home.....it was nice to have some company for the ride

REOlds Museum

What a beautiful place downtown Lansing is and the REOlds museum was very much worth viewing (just wish Steve would have been with me..he would have loved it) and so I've taken photo's so he and you can see.

I'm a little tired and will most likely not comment much on these as some have explanations with them

Inside the REOlds Museum and there is a lot to see here
