Weather Question

The Disney Shareholder meeting is planned for March 13 in Kansas City, MO and I am planning to be at Daytona Beach for the Florida Rally March 23. I am wondering if the weather this time of year would be reasonable for me to chance trying to make the drive in a way to catch both and maybe hit St. Louis as well. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I would be driving the

KC sometimes will get heavy snow in March. You may want to check some long range forecasts in February.

Thanks, that is what I was not hoping to hear, but I have to be locked in by then so I will keep planning on the southern route and a week later, unless ofthers have better news and reassurances. I am not asking for promises and I know of no Meteorologists in the group, though there may be some.

Airplanes are a much better means of travel in that region at that time of the year.
If you have to drive, at least drive a more practical vehicle and take some survival stuff (extra water, food, blanket, etc.)and be sure to keep your fuel above 1/2 all the time.

A few years back I got caught in an early spring snowstorm on I-70 with two females and a toddler, with no access to a restroom, and less than 1/4 tank of fuel.
Fortunately it didn't last too long and the freeway was only shut down until they could get a few wreckers to clear a few big rigs out of the way.
By the time we reached the first service station (where I had planned to fuel up) the fuel warning light had been on for 10 miles.

Happy Holidays Y'all

Thanks, since this was to be just a way stop on the way to Daytona Beach I think I will keep to the South and hope to avoid such events.

Thanks for the offer Kenny, but it looks like I am going to pass on the meeting so I will not be there.

Don't let the snow possibility scare you off. The KC and MODOT road crews are pretty good at snow removal on the main roads. I-70 between KC and St. Louis is cleared quickly. I don't recall any time in the twenty years we have lived in the area that it was closed for snow, unlike I-70 in western Kansas and eastern Colorado. If you do decide to come, be sure to let me know.

Will do. Problem is that all that highway has to be pretty nice for it to work for me getting from home through KC to Daytona Beach and I don't think I can count on that. The has to get to Daytona for the FL Rally.

Looks like I might get there after all. Found point for a room at the Hilton Garden Inn and cheap enough airfare and my college roommate is also a shareholder so he is going to try to get there as well. Just a short overnight so we can say we did it. Hope for good weather so we do not get snowed out, or in for that matter.
