Winter in Florida!
Any SSR Fanatic snowbirds going to Florida for a month or 2 this winter? I know some from Michigan are already down there. Karen and I will be there in January sometime. This is the place to post your location if you so desire. Also Mike in Orlando is having his 3rd annual Florida Rally March 4 thru the 6th. See the FL. thread for more details.

My wife will retire from her job in mid January, so we will probably go south in February. We are planning to go down to the Destin area for a week or so, then on down the gulf side to Mareira Beach for a few more weeks.
Where in Florida will you be staying?

We are staying in a RV park in Lake Placid. Check out Mike's SSR 3rd annual SSR event in Kissimmee, Fl. too. Its the first weekend in March. You don't need to have your SSR with you to attend. We will be R less ourselves !

Yes, if things go right, we will sign up and be there in Kissimmee! There are a few unknowns and loose ends we have to figure out before we can commit for sure. I would like to take the SSR down for that rally, but we're afraid of getting caught either on the way down or back in bad, icy weather without all weather tires. The new Bridgestones are great, but not meant for snow or ice.

We'll be checking on our place in Bonita Springs sometime in February.

Daytona Beach
We will be in Daytona Beach for Jan, Feb, & March. We are driving the R. Leaving Dec. 31st. Watch for us on 81 & 95 Southbound. We drove it down last year and got caught in some snow, just slowed down a little and kept on going. I hope it warms up in Florida so we can have some top down riding. Cape Corel
Me & my wife spend the winter in Cape Corel Jan-MAR.We attended the Kessemie event last year and had a great time.Not sure weather we will be attending this year.We keep the R Florida year round.

Well, since I'm still a workin' stiff, a snowbird for the winter I cannot be However, our friends convinced us to head to the sunshine state for a week from Christmas to New Years We'll be hanging with Mickey for the week
Can't bring the though... No snow-cleats and not enough seats...

We will be in Arnoldsville Ga. Right on your way to Fl. You and Karen should stop over for a night. Can't promise warm weather, but you will have good company.

Our plans are still not completely firmed up yet, but tomorrow I will officially sign up for the Florida Rally & activities in Kissimmee. We will plan the rest of our winter stay around the Rally. We will visit Madeira Beach and also Destin to hook up with SSR folks near each place. We are now planning on driving the Redline if we can leave when it isn't snowing.
