What a great party. We really had a good time. Thank you Glen and Elizabeth for another great get together.
Thanks ssrtruck (Jim and Mindy, NJ) for the first round. You shouldn't have done it, but that's what you do. Thank you. Wish you could have been here. We missed you.
We nominated and voted Glen (Harleyguy) as our President of The Great Lakes Tri State (MI, OH, IN) SSR Fanatic group. With First Lady Elizabeth guiding him, Im sure we have made the right choice.

Just an Honorary Title I hope.
One of the best things about this organization is the lack of organization, heirarchy and things like bylaws. Make it too formal and we will be like all other clubs, arguing about rules instead of having fun like the family we are.

You Guys and Gals are more than welcome.
We were sad we couldn't make it, because this group of Fanatics are terrific, fun folks to hang out with.
Hail to the new Chief, Glen and his First Lady, Elizabeth. They had already taken control of the Bar Tending Duties even before the Election.
Next meet for Mindy and I should be Maggie Valley 2011. We WILL see everyone there. Be safe on the ride home.

That's wonderful the percentage in this group is high for retiree's and unfortunately I am not one of them making it more difficult for me to plan runs regularly. Glenn and Elizabeth are a great pick which is already evident in the take charge MI SSR get togethers they have planned and will be a great asset to an already successful MI SSR Chapter

Karen and I want to thank everyone for a great time last night. Thanks to Jim and Mindy for the Christams cheer again this year. Harleyguy too, the Bells Beer was great!

Jim and Mindy, we enjoyed the drinks, thanks, but wish you could have been there.
We owe you one...
Glen and Elizabeth did a super, super job again. It is amazing how well
the two of you work together and organize these events. Hats off to
both of you. We enjoyed the surprise dessert/drink party after dinner.
Enjoyed seeing everyone and Happy Holidays to All.

We too had a great time last night
Dee, your nomination was a bit overwhelming to say the least!
This brings to mind the words of LBJ in 1968 regarding his possible re-election.
Paraphrasing folks, "if nominated I will not run, if elected I will not serve".
Being that I already have a non-paying position in another organization, I must respectfully decline Dee's magnanimous gesture.
However, I (we) will continue to propose future runs and/or get-togethers.
You folks in Ohio,IN, IL and MI....keep an eye on our Great Lakes Thread.
We may not be able to do as many runs (due to the weather) in our SSR's as some other Chapters, but what we lose in frequency, we'll make up in quality and variety.

Well said.

To find better words is not possible, so we'll just say "Well said, us too!!!"
I am glad all of you could join us in the frivolity (word for today) and revelry. Glen, the continuing titular (word for yesterday) head and I really enjoyed hosting such an august (word for tomorrow) group. And did you guys see his correct use of the word magnanimous in his eloquent attempt to resign? Isn't he sweet? Yep, I've worn him down ...........he has resorted to using large words.
And as I suggested (threatened) last evening, next year the ornament exchange (we are thinking in Frankenmuth or Marshall?) will have stringent rules.............and violators (Dave, Scott, Marty and JP-I'm already anticipating problems) will consequently receive reindeer droppings in their stockings.
Well, bed is calling......all of you have a Merry Christmas with your loved ones and dear ones.......and a prosperous New Year.
Ever since the unfortunate incident (Marty missed a meal!) on the Fall Color Run to the UP.......I pack extra snacks. And last night he had finished his meal with abandon - he had an extra salad via his Bloody Mary.

After reading the preceeding post, even I, at times am amazed at just how well I've managed to preserve my calm demeanor (and sanity) after surviving three+ decades of this demonstrable psychological abuse.

Hi all,
Sorry this is so late but Michele and I wanted to thank Glen and Elizabeth for all their hard work putting this gathering together. It was fabulous!
We also wanted to thank Jim and Mindy for the beverages. They were great!
Hey, we made it home that night safe and sound even though our driver had some of that fruitcake.... ha! ha! It was great seeing everyone.
